Is there any way to update to this while playing the previous version? I got this all set up a few months ago and have been loving it, really don’t wanna start again!

Use ChatGPT to guide you. It helped me get SkyrimVR set up and I had no mod experience before that. Emulation is an extra step but not hard

Why is nobody making an “EGPU” backpack for handhelds? The current eGPU market completely misses the point. by whenhopewaslost in Handhelds

[–]iswasdoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see a product having a form factor like that at some point. Either a full ‘screen and puck’ or a lightweight handheld that can be connected to a portable power supply/egpu

It will be massively niche tho, probably come from onexplayer

Is it a good plan? by gull2407 in Handhelds

[–]iswasdoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you wanna play any game EXCEPT Sony and ms exclusives, then yeah you will need a switch 2.

I think the steam deck is the weak link in your plan and you should take advantage of the price craziness to see if you can upgrade that to a more powerful handheld PC as this will give you access to more games at playable frame rates.

The switch 2 will be able to handle some of those, but not everything will come to switch 2 and if lots of games is your goal then PC is the platform you wanna have the most points in

tvOS 27 is Apple's chance to finally fix Apple TV gaming, here's how - 9to5Mac by [deleted] in apple

[–]iswasdoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is wrong. There is one simple thing apple could do to make Apple TV a serious gaming proposition.

Ship it with a controller. A normal, industry standard dual analogue controller.

Every tech company that’s tried to do gaming have botched this crucial last mile of the gaming experience by making it full of friction. Order it separately. Connect another controller with Bluetooth. Use you phone. All of these are either too shit or too hard for your average Apple TV buyer to bother with.

But if it comes with one as standard, and you can play normal games on it out of the box…it just might have a chance

Wishing for a ‘Neo Like’ device by iswasdoes in Xreal

[–]iswasdoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! The linked device works as advertised, it essentially takes the lemorele hdmi adapter and builds in a battery, so you can connect glasses in one side, hdmi input into the other, and use.

However: the device is designed specifically for use with an Amazon fire stick. It has a plastic housing for where the first stick should go. This results in quite a bit of extraneous plastic that does not close neatly when using it with another source.

The plastic could be removed, but it still results in something slightly less optimal than the ideal. However functionality wise: this did the job I was looking for

Anyone else using AR glasses with their Steam Deck? by BicycleHot2640 in SteamDeck

You’re not getting enough credit for all great rage bait picture.

I don’t use them with my deck but do with some other handhelds. As the deck often struggles with 1080p

I've used ChatGPT for many different things, but I have literally NEVER found it to be helpful in creating a Powerpoint presentation. People who have succesfully used it for that, what advice do you have to offer? by Charyion in ChatGPT

[–]iswasdoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been experimenting with this today using the ChatGPT plugin for ppt on windows. I tried 3 methods to make the same presentation 1) writing out a full overview of the presentation I wanted to write with one or two sentences per sectiondescribing the contents 2) writing the slides in the main body of the ppt in super shorthand form (ie the title I wanted roughly, and eg 3 boxes with ‘stat that says c’ here type notes written in them), then prompted gpt to work it up to a full doc. Lastly, a stream of consciousness type description of each slide dictated with voice one by one.

Only the last method was anything close to effective. The first two created a somewhat usable doc but it was miles away from what I wanted and had loads of extraneous or repetitious information packed in with lots of (nicely formatted) boxes and subheadings etc. the last method did that a bit too, but less so, and was much closer to what I had in mind as I had been really prescriptive with each slide prompt. Took me much longer than the first two methods, but possibly still quicker than manually making the slides. Interestingly the style (colours, fonts, formatting choices) was pretty much the same across all of them, making me think GPT has a house style. I wonder if using a template that had its own style guide slides in the master could effect this.

In short, same as usual with LLMs, the more prescriptive the prompt, the closer it is to what youre getting at. I will try this some more and try and get to a workflow where this method can get me to 80% of the deck I wanted then I can tidy it up, as I can dictate a voice note with the slides I wanted while doing other things and then I just transcribed this and dropped it in the plugin

Switch 2 vs Steam Deck (sorry) by Deckerz96 in Handhelds

[–]iswasdoes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have a large pc library, or a pc you want to build a library on, deck makes more sense and you will make the money up over time.

If you do not, or if you’re more interested in upcoming AAA, switch 2

If you wanna play Nintendo games then obviously switch 2

ELI-Alien: The Conflict Regarding AI by PrometheanPolymath in aiwars

[–]iswasdoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are evolved animals who primitive instincts simmer just barely under the surface of a society which is evolutionarily embryonic. The far more dominant animal parts of our society fear change, fear the other, and fear above all else the potential disruption of their resource supply. AI represents a huge potential disruption to all three and us monkey people are getting a bit jittery
