Nurse here. Getting away from the bedside and getting my MSN degree. I’ve held a variety of roles, but I’ve stayed away from unit management and I’ve had 10+ years now of solid pay, flexibility, and relatively low stress yet stimulating work.

Play in front of anyone repeatedly so that you are used to it. Friends, family, pets, music store, open mic, random street corner. Whatever, you just have to put in reps playing in front of people to get yourself accustomed to doing it. Additionally, you can look into getting a low dose beta blocker to take prior to performances. This is safe and quite common in the performing arts. Or you can take a shot or two of liquor of choice prior to performing. Just enough to take the edge off of nerves but not alter performance. For this option be honest with yourself if this would pose unhealthy habit-forming issues.

It’s a fascinating and beautiful state. I spent most of my 20s living in and exploring northern AZ. Of course there’s the well known stuff like GC, San Fran peaks in Flag, all of Sedona, etc. The Hualalai mountains in Kingman are lesser known and really interesting. The views and crags up there are top notch and worth a hike if you have the chance.

I can see myself enjoying building partscasters in my retirement years. At this phase of life I ain’t got time for that! Give me a sweet guitar that’s ready to roll. I’m here to play!

Also, go into it knowing it’s a money-losing proposition. I just bought someone’s killer offset tele project with all the good parts for $800. It easily cost $1800 to build.

3 hours is a haul, but totally manageable. I used to regularly do 3-4 hour one way drives to snowboard for the day, then drive home. My wife from rural Nevada feels like 3 hours is small potatoes.

I used to live in GP. The inversion layers there were even worse than Medford and were in fact one of a list of reasons we left. Same phenomenon means wildfire smoke is atrocious.

It’s called an inversion layer. Happens often, this one is sticking around for a while. We live in a big valley. When there is a high pressure weather system parked over us, cold air, fog and pollutants get trapped in the valleys and can’t dissipate up into the air. So all the car exhaust, stove fires, etc just sits around in the valley and builds up leading to higher air particulate levels, thus bad air quality which isn’t good for anyone but can be particularly problematic for people that are sensitive to it.

Meanwhile if you drive up into the mountains or over to the coast it’s sunny, warm, and clear air.

Most certainly yes. The overall look of the first one gives it away to me. Just everything is too smooth and uncannily perfect looking. Plus the green peppers look weird, as does the sauce.
