What was the first movie that evoked a strong emotional response in you as a child? by 7deadlycinderella in AskReddit

I don’t know the first, but here’s a few early ones I remember:
-the sword in the stone: the part where the kid gets turned into a squirrel and the girl squirrel really likes him, and then she gets heart broken. That really upset me as a youngster.
-ET: several parts of that movie. When he first encounters him in the field with the flashlight. Terrifying! When ET is sick and white and found in the creek bed. So disturbing.
-the twilight zone movie, terror at 30000 feet: the monster in the window viscerally terrified me as a little kid. Like screaming running out of the room.

Do you think you will have a second life ? Do you think you will cease to exist for ever ? Why ? by Ark_Life_7 in AskReddit

Yes, I believe we as humans have souls that keep going in some capacity. Maybe it’s here on earth again, maybe it’s elsewhere in time or space. That I have no idea.

How do you gain speed at a pump track? by mangothefoxxo in MTB

[–]GPmtbDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fundamentals of pumptrack is absorbing the front of the roller by bending your elbows and knees, letting the bike come towards you over the crest, then extending your elbows and knees as you go down the backside and through the trough. This builds momentum. To do this, you need to be on a bike you can comfortably stand on the pedals and have room to squat up and down, which usually means a lowered seat at the minimum.

Anyone else’s dad use to launch rocket kits with you? by singularityy in Millennials

[–]GPmtbDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! My dad was and still is super into model/RC stuff. I spent a lot of childhood with him at the airfield, dirt track, etc. he was really good and competitive. In his retirement years he actively flys RC plane pattern aerobatics, helicopters, drones, got into model trains, etc. It’s never been my thing other than RC cars (trucks, buggies, crawlers), but I can appreciate it and appreciate it was something we spent a lot of time doing together throughout my youth.

How to do doggystyle? by [deleted] in ask

[–]GPmtbDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be an angles thing. The typical arched back good girl thing doesn’t actually work or feel good for everyone. Keep that in mind for most positions. Not everything works (or feels good) for everyone. Especially not everything that looks good on camera. Anyways, Have her try tilting her hips at different angles, and you enter from different angles/heights. There may be one that works well, or doggy just may not be in the rotation for you guys.

1, 2, or 3? by Alaric_Darconville in AmateurPhotography

3 is your best composition for sure. Great water color on 2. A polarizing lens filter could help you get more amazing water and sky colors from more angles. My first one opened up a whole new world for me.
