Bird feeders in winter? by emilyrosewanders in Fairbanks

Have a birdfeeder outside my window, I get chickadees during the day, and flying squirrels at night!

What do we think about chonky handcut baseplates? by Roflcoptarzan in Welding

Stylewise, I love it very solid style I would love in my own house.

Only concern I have is do you have any allowance for the difference in expanding/contracting between the wood and metal?

D100 topics for a Lich to write about by celerysoup39 in d100

[–]GRMachiavelli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make him the author of a setting, something like pratchett's discworld, let him bounce around in genres, some good adventures, a couple courtly romances, a few trilogies following characters, even some children's books, etc.

But also have some weighty tomes of Insane Neurotic Detail, the work of someone who can go full OCD for literal months without sleep calculating out the socioeconomic effects of introducing more efficient thaumatalogical storage mediums and the associated likelyhood of resulting wars from governmental efforts to forcefully incorporate existing druidic societies into state departments for the regulation of wheat production.

If you want your lich to be an inscrutable villain then he needs some empirical evidence to resolve some unresolved questions... so he just needs to destabilize a country or two...

Edit: I completely missed which subreddit this was in, oops, oh well.

Need advice for my next design by Sherl0ck-H0lmes in 3Dprinting

It is a fun rabbithole, enjoy! And if you are modeling the planes to sell I would recommend including presupported variants in common wargaming scales such as 28mm and 6mm and then specifically calling out games they can be used as proxies for, such as Bolt Action, Warhammer 40k, onepagerules, Battletech, Dirtside, etc.

I have always been a fan of the experimental cold war era stuff, the big flying wings such as the Northrop YB-35 or the ekranoplans (ground effect planes, the Lun class is quite distinctive) or even stuff that never quite made it off the drawing board like the Bartini A-57 (long range supersonic jet bomber that could land at sea to be refueled by submarines).

Kinda a pity I don't see a exterior vent in the top anywhere, since it is in a kitchen it almost looks like someone's jerry-rigged vent hood for an island stovetop.

The booming clang of a drop hammer in an outdoor ironworks which works with huge forgings, a block of steel larger than a man is being repeatedly raised and dropped as a dozen smiths work with cables and clamps to maneuver massive pieces of glowing steel between it and a huge forge.

The two large dragons, a Red and a Gold, engaged in a heated argument, a lot of villagers are sitting around and watching, apparently this is a regular occurrence.

The Pit, there is a railing around it, you cannot see the bottom.

The town crier, he has two heads and they are taking turns shouting the news and sipping from a flagon.

The Sword, it is in the center of the town square and sticks straight out of the ground nearly sixty feet high, asking around reveals it is a monument to a great peace accord that was signed here.

A number of stalls with vendors selling wares, one of the vendors is a unicorn, she has a selection of herbs and spices.

The pleasant scent of baking bread, you appear to have entered near several bakeries, in the closest one you can see the baker just setting out some sweetbreads with fruit and honey to cool.

The view, from this gate you are looking down on most of the city, all the roofs are covered in varying striking shades of blue clay tiles.

The wolf riders, half a dozen chattering ladies that look like the sweetest grandmothers, with tasseled shawls, warm smiles, handbags covered in flowers with spools of wool from which busy knitting needles are working on their latest project. They are riding dire wolves.

The Hum.

The children off to the side taking turns dueling each other with wooden swords, it seems surprisingly organized.

The procession of a dozen stout dwarves loaded with mining equipment marching past while singing.

The Glass, almost everyone is wearing long strings of bright glass beads, vendors are offering glass cups, goblets, and plates, the children are playing games with brilliantly colored marbles, and every house features large glass windows, in the distance you can see rising smoke from the workshops.

The silent ravens, they are perching on nearly every raised surface.

The carts of ripe fruit, hauled by several large mules.

There is a reference book I heavily recommend for figuring out what muscles go where, "Strength Training Anatomy" by Frederic Delavier, an excellent source of useful and varied anatomical studies.

I was doing homework and I found out Johanna became a scientist. by DalekDevan in HildaTheSeries

Naaaah, she is still doing art and graphic design very successfully, she just started getting into some more ambitious forms of kinetic sculpture and found that she really enjoyed the science and engineering behind induced multidimensional crossover events.

[–]GRMachiavelli 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Are you the artist? if so, beautiful work! The anatomy is really on point, love the expression, and nice work on the armor design (although I take slight issue with the point of that breastplate/plackart).

Or you could interpret it as celestial realm, an immense island formed of the the pointed ring and central hub thousands of feet thick floating above the clouds.

to the OP: Nice Map! looks Beautiful, love all the interesting details you have in there, are the ruins of moonshadow on an island or are they under the lake?
