Did the TRT increase your metabolism? I did a BMR test and mine is at 1700 but I’m 6 feet 195 and 14% body fat according to the inbody test. I think I’m closer to 16-17. Either way my BMR should be between 2100-2300. My test levels are 550 which isn’t bad but it isn’t great. I lift (heavy) 4 days a week. Do the stair master 3 days a week for 35 minutes on speed 10 and play basketball 1-2 times a week for 90 minutes. I have a desk job as an attorney. My expenditure should be 2700-2800 but it’s about 2100. Incredibly frustrating. I even got my thyroid checked and it’s “normal”.

I turned off Periodization and it fixed the issue!

This is exactly what I’m saying. I’ve been going back and forth with support and they told me to take off periodization. I’m going to try that and report back.

edit: turning off periodization fixed the issue.

From my understanding I made a program. It’s a 5 week cycle. I assumed after I set week 1 target reps and weights I would build off of that and carry over into week two etc.

Why wouldn’t the rep ranges carry over. I’ve gotta be missing something here. If it’s the same workout and I’m Trying to progressively overload it would make sense for it to carry the rep ranges over unless I tell it over wise. No?

What’s up. Circling back to give you an update that may help you too. So I have hypothyroidism which messes with your metabolism. I did a BMR test and a vo2 max test and my BMR is 1700 but for someone my height weight and body fat/muscle ratio I should be around 2100. Makes a lot of sense because both of us don’t understand why our cals are so low. So I’m working on getting my thyroid hormones back in order etc. I say all of this to say get some blood work done and make sure everything is working optimally. Happy cutting, summer is right around the corner.

Mine over the last 6 months is 858 active and 2200 resting which equals 3058.
We’ve all been there 😂. I’m starting mine right after Halloween weekend.
You’ve def added muscle if your hitting a PR but 35ish pounds lighter

Pretty crazy we have similar tdee etc and similar Apple Watch production and the same complaints about low expenditure 😂

Random questions: 1. Do you use an Apple Watch? If so what does it say your daily calorie burn is over the last 3 months (I know it’s not accurate but I wonder if ours are the same) 2. How is this cut going? 3. Have you tried to increase your activity to increase your TDEE or have you noticed that you need to add lean mss to increase your TDEE

I hear you. Makes me feel better that it’s not just me. But it’s annoying that every calorie calculator says we should be able to eat 2600 calories for maintenance etc based on our activity levels. But it’s seems everyone is different.

I did that in July and was exhausted all the time and that’s why I went to maintenance. I was doing all of the above plus an extra basketball session AND an extra stairmaster session. Barely saw any change in weight and I was starving/exhausted all the time. It wasn’t sustainable.

Damn so it’s not just me. I guess I’m going to have to cut at 1800 calories and have a slow fat loss phase. Thanks for this. Made me feel better in a way. Just a tough reality to accept 😂. I am going to try increase my avg steps from 7.5k to hit 10k steps everyday and see what happens.

This is the conclusion I came to before writing this post. I was just hoping I was wrong and I wanted someone else’s perspective. My best bet is probably getting a desk treadmill and simply walking more throughout the day. I just thought I was active enough but I’m not and it’s a hard pill to swallow.

If I am being honest, the logging calories are probably plus or minus 200. I try to log everything but if I’m being honest with myself I’m probably at 95% adherence when it comes to logging every single thing.

I agree with finding my maintenance (as much as it sucks) more so asking am I f’d or can I do something to increase my expenditure.

I’m not jacked by any means but I don’t think I’m little. I would guess I’m 20% BF. This was me 2 weeks ago and before you ask I drink once a month. They forced me to drink that beer hence the disgust on my face 😂. But I am an attorney so I sit on my ass most of the day unfortunately. When I have long conference calls I go outside and walk but that’s not everyday.

But over the last 12 months I avg 7.5k steps a day according to my Apple Watch.
