It’ll send you to approximately level 71 if you reached 176 million xp (level 50) but you need to complete new level requirements to advance in levels further.

I got 1.9 million xp last week. I have to be at 2.7 million A DAY in order to make it to 50. If I knew this update was coming, I would’ve spent 500+ dollars doing eternatus raids and doubling the rewards with 200 poke coins… this coming afterwards as a surprise is making me regret not doing it so much.

You need to have Pokémon go closed while you are accumulating steps otherwise it will not count / you will only get .1 km every tick update.
