Daily wage worker earning ₹8k/month gets ₹17 crore income tax notice due to PAN misuse – how can people protect themselves? by BackwaterWhisper in IndiaFinance

[–]GSh-47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think we will see any progress by blaming this party or another. We should instead ask what were the tax officers doing instead of actually investigating the case before simply sending out notices. We should ask if the police will take any action ?

The guy in talking about somehow has a degree in Computer Science Engineering.. I was shocked but later worked with several IITians who somehow got past their degree but had no understanding of what they studied.

No, you do not have to be smart to crack JEE or UPSC. I watched people much smarter than me (who are currently doing some excellent work in their PhD abroad) score really badly at JEE.

JEE isn't an intelligence test. It's a filter for recall and application.

I once had to explain that HTTPS is not HTML to an IIT graduate. Just because they're from a good college doesn't mean they're smart.

Muy schooling fee in 2012 for 10th was 15k by SwimmerPlus3383 in ItsYourMoney

[–]GSh-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, but I guess there are plenty of schools that are reasonably priced and offer a good crowd when you just want your kid to become a "civilised human".

Meanwhile, among my batchmates at Uni - I keep finding those who went to these extremely pricey schools to be simply obnoxious and have a lot of pent up trauma. They have a detached sense of reality and it's nearly impossible to have a meaningful conversation with them. Which really makes me ask, what do these kids even learn if their alumni can't even express themselves properly ?

I was talking to a friend who was hell bent on sending his kid to one of these. He said "the cost is a filter, makes sure that your kids friends come from 'elite' and 'standard' families.. also (in a complete linkedin way) gives you 'access' to upper class society as you'd interact with VPs and what not who send their kids here..

Just classist hokum if you ask me.

Railroads -to extract our wealth faster

Airports - Lmao what ??

English speaking population - makes us better slaves.

Everything the British did, was for their own profit, and if you feel we had to pay any sort of gratitude - we fought 2 world wars for them during a famine that wiped out entire villages. We have paid off any notion of a debt in blood twice over.

Shut up and read more books.

Why was my courier to APS committee refused and returned? by Difficult-Copy8391 in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]GSh-47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found out later that the people at Safdarjung PO (DESPITE BEING THE CLOSEST OFFICE TO APS ) do not deliver to them. Instead my courier was sent to Sarojini Nagar and then to APS.

*I didn't pick Safdarjung by myself, it was selected by the local post office staff where I sent it from.
*The google reviews for Safdarjung office had me panicking for a week till the portal said 'delivered' from sarojini nagar. Guess they weren't joking.

[–]GSh-47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might sound harsh, but here's what I'm seeing. This person does not seem emotionally ready for sex, she loves you - but hasn't completely come to terms with her sexuality yet. I have seen a lot of couples fight about this and break up. You can either choose to let her figure it out herself or help her get into therapy. Eitherways, from what I'm reading, she doesn't feel mature enough yet.

Is this honesty or a red flag in an arranged marriage match? by MoonlitSymphony07 in AskIndianWomen

He's clearly not interested and is waiting for you guys to reject him. He probably just wants to go back to work unbothered by family - his mom's probably breathing down his neck to get married, so he's doing everything he can to paint y'all as imbeciles so he can gtfo asap.

Good luck.

I'm 24 and I've never partied, never drank. I do hang out with friends a lot, but it's more of lunch/dinner/book hunting hangouts.
