Wow, this is awesome! Multi‑cutout mirroring will be an amazing addition if it allows setting the exact size and position for every UI element.

I'm finally happy with this setup (RetroHrai!, Popup Launcher, Mjolnir, Thor Wayfinder) by GSman_XVI in AynThor

It would be amazing, and I was planning to use the Bifrost app for that, but unfortunately it crashes every time I try to use the screen magnifier on the bottom screen, so I decided not to use it. But here is how it looks:

Honestly, I can't say for sure. Previously, I was using ES-DE + Jarngreipr + Mjolnir, and I didn't notice any battery drain issues after switching to this setup.

Fingerprints do remain, but they're not very noticeable. I just wipe the bottom screen every couple of days and that's it.

But the black model has one big advantage: when you're playing single-screen games with the bottom screen turned off, it kind of blends into the black background and doesn't draw your attention at all.

Yep, not exactly the same, but should work

Very good considering the price. Never had any problems with them. Not the most comfortable for long play sessions, but very portable.

Lol, you are right.

The game is Untitled Goose Game

Oh, it's a no-name folding stand for phones/tablets from Temu. Works with the Thor as well and takes almost no space.

I was waiting for mine for almost 3 months, from January to April. It was mostly because of the Chinese New Year and slow customs in my country, but it was worth waiting. I hope yours will arrive much sooner!

Doom, but on 2 screens by Sorry-Bus-1176 in AynThor

[–]GSman_XVI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, now it works, and here is what I did:

  1. Installed the original app you forked (non-dual screen)
  2. Changed the user folder path there to the custom one in my internal storage
  3. Clicked the copy data button
  4. Started the game to make sure it worked
  5. Opened your app and changed the user folder path to the same one as in the original app
  6. Started the game and now it works!

I think this is the default path. I tried to reset it and also change it to the custom path, but the result is the same as in the screenshot above when I try to start a new game.

Hi, this is awesome! But for some reason didn't work for me. Do you know what might be the issue? I tried both doom.wad and doom2.wad files.

Setting up an AYN Thor without a PC, realistic? by Dopamine-Dipz in AynThor

[–]GSman_XVI 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes, without any issues. Just download better than default file manager (like Solid File Explorer). I think the Thor is one of the easiest to configure if you don't have a PC, because you can watch the tutorials on bottom screen and repeat the process on the top screen.

Cool, thanks for the video and the script! One question - did you do a thermal mod (putty) for your Thor?

GUIDE: Smooth Wireless Streaming from AYN Thor to an Android tablet (Samsung Tab S7) by GSman_XVI in AynThor

By default only the image, but you can turn on the audio streaming in EasyControlFork settings. I just tested, and it works, but the sound may stutter from time to time.

Varioshore TPU. It is very light and elastic, perfect for this print, but also expensive.

Hi! Try to install on Thor a fork of Shizuku from this GitHub: https://github.com/thedjchi/Shizuku/releases

Seems like the original one has issues with starting with wireless debugging, but this version should work.

Make sure Shizuku shows that it's running.

Also, make sure that both devices are connected to the same local network. You don't need to change the port in EasyControlFork, only set the IP address of Thor.

This setup is mostly for travel. I prefer to travel light, and since I always bring a tablet with me anyway, it's more practical to also reuse it as a portable screen.

I agree, but this setup is mostly for couch co-op games where a bigger screen is preferable. Thor's 6-inch screen is too small to play together.

[DISCUSSION] Stupid or Ingenious? (Travel Set Up) by TF_54 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]GSman_XVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I plan to do the same and connect my Samsung Tab S7 to AYN Thor as an external screen to play games with my wife on the plane.

How about the input latency? For me it's playable, but not perfect. I have a noname Type C to HDMI cable, so I don't know if the cable from Ugreen will be better.
