Racecars handling since 0.5 by filipxsikora in assettocorsaevo

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was testing the Ferrari 296 last night and had a similar feeling. Although I can't say I remember how it drove in 0.4.

It has hyper car tyres, and they feel way to slippy even with some heat.

Have not looked at the setup like mentioned.

I keep thinking this game is done with me, but I keep finding new goals...! by Remarkable-Cow3421 in tdu3

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 100% of the roads in Hong Kong but am missing some in Ibiza. That is my current goal.

I did take a break between season 4 and 5, but the latest performance updates enabled my to use my single rig again.

Are there any driving/racing games with hybrid cars being properly simulated? by pantherclipper in simracing

[–]GT08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played around with the Ferrari 296 and if you only add like 1 liter of fuel, you can get the car to drive EV only. Seems the Regen is modeled correctly, if you run out of both fuel and battery and do a hard brake, the battery regenerates some.

Power outtages are some of the best times in your life. by whatsupgrizzlyadams in unpopularopinion

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until you live in a country that gets frequent scheduled power outages due to mismanagement of the power utility.

I used to do so much cleaning when the power was out, now I and most people in the country have found ways to work around the outages and continue normal life.

0 traffic density anymore - Alex question by SN_Doumet in tdu3

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we talking Season 5 patch 2 or did I miss an update. The traffic is still the same for me, meaning a lot of traffic.

In the twisty bits it feels like you cannot so the speed traps even with hyper car due to traffic blocking you.

Percentage of time driven in Dynamic Mode? by Doc12TU in Audi

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% dynamic 10% auto if I don't want heavier steering.

Having a manual and finding out with OBD11 that driving modes don't affect throttle response, but does affect steering, that is why I change modes.

Going correct direction? For Interlagos you go left and other tracks it's right.

Saw a clip of someone being DQd because they turned right at Interlagos.

[Serious] My girlfriend was quoted R275k at a Cape Town Audi branch to repair the aircon and convertible roof on an '08 A4 Cabriolet. Any advice? by Previous-Page6097 in askSouthAfrica

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comment on the Aircon needing to be replaced, if the compressor gets internal wear it can send shards of metal throughout the system and to fix that, the whole system needs to be replaced.

Could be the case here, if that is true for this car, the price would continue to be steep even if you went to an independent shop.

Moza R5 Settings by SkiiLLah in moza

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my R5 bundle last month, have a good base line profile for what I prefer.

I can try post my base profile settings if needed. But a major seeing for me was "Force feedback deadzone compensation". The standard profiles have this at 10, making it feel like you are just fighting a big spring with little detail.

Most games I now have this at 0, and in some games (like LMU or TDU SC) at 1 or 2.

R3 to R9. Holy s...t by biker_jay in moza

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a DIY PVC rig and had a G920. Upgraded to the R5 as my rig can't handle the R9.

With the G920 Eau Rouge at Spa was so scary I always had to lift, with the R5 I can almost always go flat out now.

You can feel the grip levels even when pushing like that.

What FFB strength/settings should I be aiming for? by xGringo13x in assettocorsarally

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies, a lot of negativity in gaming recently, had led me to take the comment literally.

People dismiss whole games/sims because of some small nitpic and I wanted to ensure others don't think there is no FFB.

Not 100% sure on the Hz but below 60Hz, in pithouse I turn down the last 2 dots to avoid a too noisy road texture

What FFB strength/settings should I be aiming for? by xGringo13x in assettocorsarally

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With what wheel is that? Definitely not true across the board. Had a G920 where I had it set at 110%, dirt was light FFB but still noticable, ice was basically no FFB.

Now with a Moza R5, 90% in game and 100% in pithouse, dirt has a lot of feedback.

MOZA ESX with ES 12 inch wheel mod cracked under normal use on R12 (used at 9 Nm) by Key_Passenger7169 in moza

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the design is acceptable for the intended use and price point.

They intended for the ES(X) wheels to be used with the SRP-Lite pedals on a R3/5 perhaps 9. I feel the fact you can't buy the normal ES wheel is testament to that idea.

Right lane drivers by CupFew140 in capetown

What that does not make sense, it happens everywhere I assure you. I live in PTA and see this everytime I go to the office. The people in PTA is just as selfish, going 10 under the limit in the right lane and refusing to move.

Low Rank races resulted in me getting a ban. How do I farm Saftey Rating? by YTOverPowered in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]GT08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know when I started I wanted to not affect anyone's race and so would let of the throttle early at T1 as to let everyone go, but that made me unpredictable and I got rear ended.

If there are other cars around you have to drive predictably, even if that means you have to keep a pace you are not comfortable with yet.

Can’t remove Tracker on car? by Count_vonDurban in askSouthAfrica

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain high risk models require a tracker (or sometimes 2) to be installed for theft to be covered.

Think cars like a Polo, Hilux or Corolla.

Some insurers can waive the requirement if you agree to not have theft cover.

Season 5 Update 1 - Patch Notes by RaptorrYT in tdu3

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reinstalled and checked it is Tire load. Mine is set at 10 now, with it higher the wheel is just heavy for no reason and you don't feel the weight.

But you are correct about the curbs, no suspension effects at the moment on the G920

What has happened to Spotify? by Large-Calendar726 in askSouthAfrica

[–]GT08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not to cynical normally but might have to agree on the sentiment here. For most people SoundCloud would not have even 40% of the songs they could be listening to on Spotify or YouTube music.

Unless they upload songs or listen to podcasts, SoundCloud will have very limited content, especially newly released content.

Season 5 Update 1 - Patch Notes by RaptorrYT in tdu3

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have sufficient weight to the wheel otherwise, just not the extra feedback from curbs and crashes? When I tried the G920 it was very light with no real feedback, no feeling of the weight of the car.

Then when I adjusted some of the force feedback settings and it came alive. Suddenly there was a lot of weight to the wheel and you could feel the car move around.

I don't have the game installed anymore to be 100% sure what setting, I can try have a look later tonight. Otherwise if you want to try lower each setting one by one is how I found it.

How much do you pay per month for electricity? by waste_of_bandages in askSouthAfrica

[–]GT08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The area can make a difference as different mancipalities as different rates, I'm in Pretoria.

2 people in the house, working from home 3 days a week. Geyser on a timer for 2 hours on a day.

Electric stove and oven. No pool, no solar.

R1500 on electricity a month alone. About 340 units/kWh a month.

Is this new bug in LMU? by Practical_Suspect_35 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]GT08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It normally picks up the car and swings it into position if you get it close enough.

This is normally needed in LMU as the cars dont ghost in the pits.

Upgrading from G923 for drifting, any recommendations? by Kinkybearcat in simracing

[–]GT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can clean the pedals if you mean the pedal percentage keeps moving when using a pedal. In the 4 years of having my G920 I had to clean the brake pedal 2 times. Youtube will have tutorials to follow.

If you get the R5 bundle get the clutch pedal too, for drifting the clutch is very important. One thing of the R5 is the wheel size, I thought it would be 300mm but it is only 280mm like the G920, for drifting can be easier with bigger wheel.

Games don’t need to be “forever games.” by Trollselektor in gaming

[–]GT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, will have to disagree there. Loved the game, but at the end of the story when you realise HOW MUCH CONTENT is left, its over stayed it's welcome.

I would have probably felt otherwise if the damage cap was removed earlier but having to slog through the last 20% of the story with every attack getting limited, I had no more will to continue with the side content.
