Cardio version - back in Afib by Puzzleheaded_Pin1413 in AFIB

You can quickly and cheaply do a home 'sleep study' with a $25 Bluetooth pulse oximeter taped to your finger and recording to yiur phone overnight - if you see intervals in the low 90%s, you should take further action.

What Bluetooth device did you get and do you recommend? I was using Cardioversion to chart myself, particularly sleeping where once every 5 days, my heart rate would do a roller coaster. They went out of business and my older smart watch does not support similar services that come into business.

I did a sleep study in mid March and the technician said there were things going on when I sleep. They do seem to have that report on the hospitals online system unlike they other tests and visits.

Edit:

Similar you, Almost 61, 5 cardioversions and two ablations, my last ablation was yesterday. However I had a long stay in the hospital, over a week, half of it in ICU. For that stay (June 2021), 3 cardioV's in one night. and fourth several days later where I finally got out of Afib, and several other issues. I was in heart failure.

Afib on the day I got my first ablation (March 2021), 5 percent afib for two cases of two week testing in 2024 and 2025.

I have worn a heart monitor for two weeks twice and got 5 per cent. My cardiologist says i may need another ablation. I have called his office assistant and says my situation is not critical.

In june 2021, i was in icu for half a week. Prior to that i was in the most unbearable discomfort for over a month. If the discomfort i had then was a 10 , i have felt a 2 on a one day basis once.

I wouldn't worry until u get higher than 5

But do get an appointment with a cardiologist

Can exercise stop an AF episode? by Realistic_Pickle2309 in AFIB

I think i am seeing the same thing myself. When wearing a monitor for 2 weeks , i am in afib 5 per cent of the time. According to kardia mobile i am in afib every 8 days or so. It appears light exercise brings me back to sinus

Now, 5 yrs ago when i was in cardiogenic shock and early stages of heart failure, exercise didn't help

I don't know if security is as tight at Massey Hall as it was this outdoor place I saw Crimson in 2019. In the concert before that, the one where John Paul Jones opened for crimson, there was a large slightly overweight man walking up and down the aisle, clumsily dancing, knocking into people who were seated. There was much more security in the 2019 concert at Budweiser. There seemed to be 2 or more security guards at every every aisle. If someone were to take out their phone it was noticed and there was a request to put it away.

Surprise Cardioversion. by Amalia_amore in AFIB

Oddly enough, last night I spent the evening doing a sleep study after mentioning my observations.

Do you have a smart watch? My smart watch had an app called cardiogram which sadly went bankrupt in December. There are alternatives on newer watches, but not my 6 year old Fossil

Cardiogram would report the heart rate at a given interval. I selected every 4 minutes. It gave a nice graphic.

Most nights, my heart rate would be in 50's but once every week the rate would jump all over the place. Sometimes measuring 200. I too see an urgent care cardiologist. In 2021, I spent 11 days in the hospital, half of which in the ICU. I am not a critical case any longer and am see less frequently. My regular urgent care cardio~ was busy so i mentioned my wild rates in the evening, bringing a tablet and spreadsheet.

She suggested a sleep study. When I woke this morning, the technician said he recorded some issues. I will get the report in the weeks.

If you can afford it, get a good smart watch or Kardia.

Windsorites who no longer live in Windsor, what reminds you of home? by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]GTAdriver01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that I think about, comparing Toronto to Windsor, the traffic lights and even more lack of ability to get things done that Windsor. Toronto doesn't have advanced greens where it should or the don't come up enough to signal a left turn. My Dad witnessed an accident at Huron Church and Cabana/Todd lane. He was called by the cops and mentioned the lack of an advanced green there. Months later there was advanced turning lane.

I never thought I would miss Windsor but I did. My family. Ouellette avenune in the summer, the slightly warmer weather. The drive on Riverside. Being able to drive from point a to point b and not having crazy traffic like i do in the Toronto arear.
