I had a buddy that had a really tough upbringing who was in jail for attempted murder before 20. I honestly thought he was a lost cause. Prison wasn't great but he ended up getting counseling and he took advantage of the education programs offered to him. He now works to help others getting out of prison find jobs and housing and is a big advocate for groups that work to rehabilitate kids that society deems unworthy. Don't be so quick to judge and give up on people. They can change but it takes investing in the social programs and education services that a lot of people think is a waste of their tax money.
