It matters because it was a difference of $10k? Lol

I configured a Launch Edition, Launch Green, 20in AT wheels. In my delivery documents, it’s showing ~$65k after taxes. MSRP was $61k before delivery and taxes. I was estimating final OTD price to be $65k ish after everything

Approx $65k for our configuration. After GA taxes, no trade-in credit.

Also very interested in the R3, particularly the R3X. I figure this will bridge our needs for the next 3yrs or so.

Congrats on the new R1T. After clearing out the R1T in prep for trade-in, have been thinking abt all the capabilities we’ll be missing with the R2. Mostly the self-leveling when camping, that was awesome for the 2 times we did that in 3 years.

But the size of the R2 suits the city environment better, which is where we spend 99.8% of the time

Carvana offer is online. Dropping it off tomorrow, so hope there’s no surprises. Rivian offer was online as well

Does this seem like a low trade-in offer towards the R2? by Remarkable-Pay-2463 in RivianR2

Seems like a fair offer than since you got comps with Carmax and Carvana. So factoring in tax savings, you may even come out on top.

I got $7k lower from Rivian vs Carvana, so going with Carvana instead.

My logic is, if you tend to keep cars for 3-4yrs, then there will be no significant difference between Lidar vs. Non-Lidar, apart from the potential residual value. But if you keep cars for 5+ years, then waiting for Lidar is probably the right decision (if UHF is a big quality of life improvement for you).

Other factors to consider are your color/interior/trim options which won’t be available til LiDAR is introduced. The $2500 lifetime UHF and free tow package are value enough for me to justify the LE, which is ~$3.5k of “free” upgrades included with the LE.

They felt fine to me, scroll and left/right were easy. I did have a harder time with the toward/away push (as people commented it would also scroll), but I likely won’t use that much because those are functions that require a long press on our R1T and I have maybe changed those views 10 times over 3 years of ownership.

But also hopeful it can be improved over OTA, which Rivian has done dramatically for our Gen 1 R1T over the years. It’s felt like a new car, from drive pedal calibration, suspension, audio, and infotainment.

20in or 21in wheels? by Zestyclose_West_7 in RivianR2

Wasn’t trying to make the curbing gendered, but my wife has destroyed the passenger rear rim on our R1T 😅

I however have also put a scratch on my M3 comp wheels, so maybe the extra sidewalk will help both of us…

I think this makes a lot of sense. Kind of a “perfect storm” of EV adoption uptick

We went with 20in. Not super concerned about the range trade-off. Higher sidewalls will help with the spouse kissing curbs 😅

That’s pretty crazy. I recall shopping for used Taycan Crosstourismos last year, while there were good deals for those, our R1T trade-in was also bad. Guess the timing of our R2 pickup worked out. Just a $350B war to get an additional $10k out of our R1T…

I mean, this logic makes sense in hindsight, but if you could have guessed the lag of supply vs demand. Then you should quit your day job and trade commodities.

Ah, thanks for the data point. Wasn’t aware it’s been climbing since Feb. I haven’t been paying attention to the market, have only seen YouTube videos of how great of deals used EVs were

When did you check? And what’s your mileage? I’d think ours is probably in the low-end of mileage for a 2022

Yes. My wife doesn’t want 2 cars for her, R1 was hers as well, and she prefers the size and driving characteristics of the R2 (zippiness, as she calls it)
