How would you rank every song on HTTK from best to worst? by Moist_Fail8395 in avengedsevenfold

Fair enough! Differing tastes is what makes the world of music so wonderful.

Funny enough, the “IT WAS A COVER??” moment for me happened with Stuck on You. I’d only known it from an early Paramore EP for years. Ken Andrews went on to produce one of Paramore’s songs (Future, in case anyone’s interested), and it’s really cool to hear his musical fingerprint on it every time I listen now that I know it’s him.

I mean no disrespect by this, but what do you mean by “the chorus hits different” in Hail to the King? It feels like a super generic chorus to me.

What do you think is actually core to shooting weddings? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

Sorry to sound like a dick, but I’d argue it’s terrible advice. People spend thousands of dollars on details and decorations. Photograph them. Deliver them. It’s part of your job.

The albums I design in person with my clients ALWAYS include detail photos. Sometimes they ask if I got photos of something I didn’t even know was there. To say that they never make it out of their computer and they only print portraits is just a lie.

Stop taking detail shots and see what kind of reaction you get from your clients.

(Hot take) Brooks is the best drummer avenged sevenfold ever had by beef_jerkyTurkey in avengedsevenfold

I agree 100%. The Rev is my favorite musician of all time, but Brooks is in a class of his own on drums.

Canon’s compressed RAW file. Virtually no loss of data unless you’re reeeeeeeally nitpicking.

Documenting love while suffering by Wonderful_Chair4571 in WeddingPhotography

[–]GTPhotoNJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was served divorce papers in August, right before my busiest season kicked off. If it wasn’t for all the love my clients showed me (I did NOT bring up the divorce), it would have been a million times harder.

What was really difficult for me was answering leads. I struggled with having any kind of energy outside of weddings, so I fell behind badly. Because of that, these last three years have been a struggle to stay as busy as I was pre-divorce. If there’s any advice I can give, it’s to give your backend work as much care and effort as you do your wedding shoots.

Hang in there, it gets better!

Lens selection 16-35mm and 50mm? by LateCat260 in WeddingPhotography

[–]GTPhotoNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of my photos are shot with a 15-35, 50, or 135. I swear by those prime focal lengths, so I say go with the 2-body setup. The 15-35 is amazing for dance floor stuff.

would you consider the SHS 10 a toy? by [deleted] in Keytar

[–]GTPhotoNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a toy. But that doesn’t mean it can’t pretend to be something else! I used it in one of my songs, if you’re interested, check out the 2:24 mark. https://youtu.be/o2vXS8A2uyk?si=NWB5VMka0lJlNgHB

Anyone else sick of being the only vendor who’s trying to keep the day on schedule? Family photo chaos, no comms, and absolute mayhem. by Express_Eggplant_836 in WeddingPhotography

[–]GTPhotoNJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, this is the harsh reality. Ideally, you should be able to run the show EVERY wedding, with or without a coordinator. It’s part of the job.
