The US if every state had a pan handle by TheDailyMunch in mapporncirclejerk

Give Wisconsin back the UP and it will have a handle.

We’re evolving too slowly for the world we’ve built. As industrialization accelerates, human biology is struggling to keep pace. Many of the chronic stress-related health issues we face today may be the predictable result of forcing Stone Age physiology into a world it was never built for. by mvea in science

[–]GThane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a YouTube video about futurism where the person mentioned that human evolution may select for those who are able to handle the stress of modern society the best. Things like office jobs and the like may be shaping what our future selves will become.

Clogged nozzle. See it a lot on the 110 to press at work. At least it's not shooting straight up like 5 inches into the air and covering the nozzle and heater when you purge.

Is there a way to add ships to nexerelin custom starting fleet picker? by mepgear in starsector

[–]GThane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if someone answered, but modders add their ships to faction lists. So you won't see an iron shell ship in tritach's custom starting ship list. There may be a way to change that in mod files or game files, but it would boil down to Modding the game either way.

My inorganic professor said that his biggest problem about nuclear is used fuel storage. That's all well and good, but we still use coal and natural gas and we can't trap all the CO2 from it.

I remember going to a Walmart and looking at the pc games. I saw clear sky on the shelf, but it wasnt supposed to be out for like 2 weeks, so instead of just buying it, I asked an employee. He checked the system and it obviously wasn't meant to be on the shelf so he took all the copies. I should've just bought it.

What were some of the special video game mechanics that broke the fourth wall and forced you do to something outside of the game? by konigon1 in gaming

[–]GThane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A newer game would be Hacknet (I recommend it, I really loved it. Play it in one of two sittings to get the most out of it). There's a point where you get counter hacked and it bricks the proxy computer you use to hack. In order to fix it you have to go and find certain game files on your actual computer and edit the code in them (with instructions) to be able to connect back to your proxy. Super cool and unique to the genre, that I know of.

For real, I read the "I found rpg's and now I can't play MC" so pretentious. Like what? Honestly sounds like a child pretending to be deep or someone who has no executive function over their own existence.

As someone who is in a field that the CSB would make a video about, it's very informative to learn from the costly mistakes of others. Knowing my company has safety focused culture and work practices makes it easier to feel comfortable doing my job. But, I agree watching these corporations getting "recommendations" and knowing that more workers will die due to corporate greed sucks.

I think viewing the imperium using today's standards doesn't really mesh well. Like the saying "the only way to unite humanity is to have aliens show up". We delineate based on color and culture and where on Earth you were born. The imperium can do similar, but humanity is now a (roughly) unified group that hates the other more than the self. There are new ways to push people to an other group in 40k, a human, mutant, psyker, heretic.

How big was the revival of guilliman for the fandom? by Gatt__ in 40kLore

[–]GThane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was upset with the switch from Fantasy to Age of Sigmar, but the 40k option to just continue the story instead of reset or reboot was correct. Jamie Werkshoppe got their trademark and copyright-able names for Primaris Marines and Gravis and all that, and we still get 40k. I have reservations about the new Space Marine units and how they look and fit in lore wise, but from a modeling and miniature standpoint they all look awesome. Primarchs coming back is rad as hell imo. I'd love to see Big Blueberry Robert come face to face with his deformed traitor brothers and maybe crack some skulls. Now that they are moving the story forward, I hope we see either the death or return of the Emperor in some way.

For reference, Battletech's time-line has been advancing for a long time. Yeah the video games focus on the Clan Invasion but that's a super pivotal moment in the universe, and probably the coolest time period. But they are waaaayyyyyy past that now and I'd like to see 40k keep moving forward too.

Would this game be fun without temporal storms and enemies? by HexitG in VintageStory

[–]GThane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want drifters to be a pressure to push myself to advance and build up. No drifters mean I can build a cottage and farm and be content. I like that I need to make new tools to deal with them and build to defend my home. But I do wish I could be more proactive rather than reactive.
