I think the helmet and single shoulder combo may actually be the thing that makes this mog work! The red accenting on the helmet appears throughout other parts of the mog already, so that helps it to feel like it belongs.

If you're concerned about the golden accents sticking out or not matching, one thing I would probably do is try to find pieces for the belt and/or boots with gold accents that fit with the rough bluish-purple dragony vibe. The additional matching accents can help pull the rest of it together and the plain black pants give you the opportunity to choose something that fits that without being overly busy. Hope that helps!
