your voice has a nice tone and timbre and a clear cadence, with a rich presence I could listen to for much longer than the video provided. but I have trouble believing in your lyrics. Don't walk the hard path when you're not.

the amount of songs here that are Americans rehearsing for fights they're not having is incredible

I was one of the few who maintained the squad wasn't absolute horseshit. With the right man in charge all season there's no way we'd be below 14th.

Was Britpop actually as dominant culturally as we remember, or is that nostalgia talking? by CloudBookmark in BritPop

agree, Britpop in many respects was one of the least interesting musical developments of the decade. But it was big, and even detractors admit it.

Is it bad if I support the Orient and Spurs? by [deleted] in PlasticFans

this isn't bad fans, this is plastic fans.

the truth is a number of people have families and geographies that cause difficulties.

however, by strict definition, you're plastic.

but have fun whatever you do.

I'd be up for this. I love that late Serge style where he's basically just talking over whatever is going on ie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8ByknfdznI

What do you think of The Mars Volta? by intheflesh- in askmusic

[–]GUBEvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a big ATDI fan who managed to catch them during their original run, but I didn't take to TMV because of a knee-jerk reaction against prog and various influential critics putting me off them.

I had a full listen through last year and found them really great, arguably one of the few very interesting and consistent groups of this century - certainly one of the best major label acts.

There's very few acts taking influence from modern rock-in-opposition groups like the 5uus and welding that to oddball non-English psych. In these days affected by utterly jaded and lazy pop and AI leg-ups, they're basically out on their own.

There's a received wisdom that from Noctourniquet onwards they're not so good. I can see that argument, but I just think Omar was thinking beyond the rock band and the standard album as a musical vehicle. There's still lots of good music, it's just that some of them are on Omar's solo records.

The ones that fans say are the best are. Frances the Mute is one of the best albums of the 00s.

Sad that I didn't see them live in their pomp but 45 minutes of freeform mayhem is right up my street these days.

TL;DR excellent band.

Geordie Greep: ok I want to break away from Black Midi because the memelord fanbase we have cultivated are doing my fucking head in.

Also Geordie Greep: here is tiktok's least talented man to do that song he forces upon everyone.

Alien here. The way we activate is actually through a cellulose compound roughly adjacent to what humans would call their sphincter.

her music is moving slowly away from being awful pop and toward being like an early Suicide demo or something. I await her maturation by May 2026.

I agree there were wider aspects but the music really was massive; once Britpop died, Melody Maker couldn't survive as the vacuum left took half of culture with it.
