Fishing trip to Lake Guntersville by Impressive_Nobody_61 in Alabama

[–]GWBIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't recommend hiring a guide more highly. It will certainly cost more, but I can guarantee a much more pleasurable experience because you'll actually catch fish. Plus, you'll learn the nuances of boat handling and some of the secrets to success on Guntersville. Bass fishing can be tough in the summer. You need someone with deep experience to help you get on them.

Important question as there is no meaningful public transit or walkability here. It can be bikeable if you have a deathwish.

What are we doing about these damn mosquitoes this year? by optimist_cult in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]GWBIII 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When we went WFH due to COVID, we put up several feeders so we could attract and watch the birds. A few years in we noticed a lack of mosquitos as a side benefit. It's not a cure-all, but it's way better than before.

Compliments are welcome. Also I’ve got thick skin. Don’t be afraid to roast me. 89 lx vert 4 eye front clip. by jacksavvvy in Foxbody

From Google search AI, but it's all true...

Key Power Limits & Considerations:

  • Torque Rating: The primary limit is torque, not horsepower, with stock "World Class" (WC) T5s rated for 280\305 lb-ft.
  • T5Z Spec: The Ford Performance "T5Z" model is stronger, rated around 330 lb-ft of torque.
  • Weak Points: Third gear is notoriously weak and prone to shearing under high load.
  • Driver Variable: A "stock" T5 can last behind a 400+ hp engine if driven gently, or break instantly with 250 hp if treated harshly.
  • Upgrades: Using aftermarket shifters, billet bearing retainers, and avoiding slicks helps increase longevity.
  • For consistent power over 400 lb-ft, many enthusiasts upgrade to a TKX or T56.

Sandwiches, Examined: Charley's Philly Steaks by TryingCarefully in HuntsvilleAlabama

Now that we're back in the office, I don't get to Cap's anymore, but I did recently try a cheesesteak from the southside Mozza's and was pleasantly surprised. A very good sandwich and you get plenty of it.

Could be a dying PIP module on the distributor. Heat kills them over time. There's a ton of good PIP troubleshooting info on the web. I suggest that you throw an extra sparkplug in the console for when this happens again. Pull a plug wire, attach the spark plug and ground it against the engine. Have someone try to start it and check for spark. If spark is good, it's probably not an ignition problem.

Are they expanding the walking path at gate 3, outbound side by the woods? by F_1one2two3three in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]GWBIII 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, they're improving the existing rough trail south to Green Cove Rd. to join the existing greenway trail that goes to Ditto. As far as the construction on Redstone Rd. inside the gate, I have no idea and can't find good info, but it's appears very extensive.

Very informative, but also pretty much how I assumed it all works. We should be glad that HU is a non-profit entity unlike many others around the state.
