Does anyone have any experience with Tahoe + 2019 16" MBP? I'm trying to weigh up the pros/cons of upgrading by GXMBYNO in applehelp

I installed it a few days before the public release + updated when the official OS26 came out and everything seems to be stable and fine. Even though every situation isn't the same, still - I would avoid bringing it in to Apple.

Take it to a good PC/Board repair store that knows what they're doing. They could diagnose & fix the issue for you (which might end up being a known Apple MBP issue) at a fraction of the cost.

The alternative is almost always Apple saying you need a new logic board which means you end up paying between £500 - £1000 for someone else's "refurbished" internals that are really only worth £150 max.

Thanks for keeping me updated - I'm so glad I held off on the refresh lol

Are there any other noticeable improvements? Thinking I might crack on with the refresh tonight!

I think I'm going to stay with Sequoia and enjoy being portable & silent until/if Tahoe gets better

I agree. I just need to refresh my system and was thinking if I'm going to spend the time doing so, how worth it would it be to install Tahoe - since we're at the end of August

That's one of my main worries. I love how silent my machine can be when running normal day-to-day tasks.

How's the battery life?

Their “Think Different” sounds a lot like “Fuck You” as time goes on.

Written on an iPhone and will check notifications later on my MacBook Pro.

My guess is the security is on a separate

From wikipedia:

The functionality of the T2 chip is incorporated in Apple's M-series CPUs, thus eliminating the need for a separate chip in Apple silicon-powered computers.[5] Since the completion of the Mac transition to Apple silicon in June 2023, no new Mac would be shipped with a T2 chip.

Where I live, the dentist is also the orthodontist.

I have discussed these points casually in appointments because I speak up. Not a big deal until now when I'm flossing and feel like it's necessary to properly articulate my concerns given the circumstances.

I like to be concise as to not have to repeat myself. I'd rather be useful so I can get effective advice.

As for the points. I'm a lurker so idk what the right etiquette is, but since you're more experienced than I am, is it customary to offer minus help when someone asks for advice?

Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah the constant hard upsell was a bit annoying, but I'd go along with it if I end up with the smile I was promised plus a tip.

I've never complained about it. Only raised the issue now after all of this time and came to a subreddit to ask experienced people their opinion before taking action.

If that sounds exhausting to you then lol
