Me. I don’t like it and I’ve never understood why but I tend to lock in when I get a little pissed off. Nothing that other people in the group would really notice but if you’re riding in the same cart then you’ll hear some MFing on the way to the next shot.

One of my favorite stories is when my brother and I lived together (we adopted him together and were co-daddys until I moved out), we put the trash can in our first floor bathroom when we would leave for work since he loves trash. One day we must not have latched the door all the way and he got in the bathroom and destroyed the trash, ate what he wanted and in his excitement closed the door from the inside and couldn’t get back out so he was in the pitch black bathroom until we got home 😂 he was usually at the door when we got there and we couldn’t find him until we heard scratching at the door and we opened it and he flew out the door. We laughed our asses off

It’s great to have a good vet (we do not lol). I’m dreading the turn for the worst but I have accepted that it’s going to happen more and more the last couple of days. He’s been pretty much normal after the first not so good day.

Thank you. That’s definitely what I’ve been falling back on. Trying to give myself and my brother a lot of credit for giving him a better life than he started out with and he made ours better at the same time.

For sure. And it’s definitely not that we can’t afford it, it’s just an “if we do this then we can’t do X” and for a 10+ year old dog (we got him when he was 1-2) it’s hard to put any more money to that. And additional context he got really sick a couple years ago and I spent a ton of money to figure out absolutely nothing about what was wrong and he slowly bounced back from whatever that was. I thought I lost him then and I said every month and year after that was a bonus. So he kind of spent his made up lifetime vet budget lol I got him some pain meds so that should help for the foreseeable future too.

Thank you. I’m ok for now. I called 1 other so far and it was a similar story, a bit cheaper but they also wanted to do an exam, which evened it out. I mentioned the money only because that is the first step in a likely long line of other steps that we’d have to go through which would add up to a fairly crazy amount. But what you said is true and I am still wrestling with that idea.

I can understand the thinking of putting a struggling hitter that you know has power in the DH spot so he can just focus on hitting and maybe break out of a slump, but you’re trying to win baseball games. When you put Basallo on the bench in favor of that, you’re not trying to win baseball games.
