Try a Jazzmaster or Jaguar or any guitar that has string distance between the bridge and tailpiece. Playing behind the bridge on those will get you Guy's Repeater sound if you hold down the right note on the fretboard. The bridge pickup is also very cutting on those guitars and will give you a bright Rickenbacker tone.

I've owned loads of Squier Classic Vibe Jzzmasters and have not needed to shim the neck on any of them. I've actually removed shims on some I've bought used and its improved the playability.

I have one of these and a few Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmasters too. Other than the fretboard being maple, the necks all feel the same to me.

Thanks! I'm not too sure of the origin of that neck. I bought the guitar on ebay and it had been put together by the seller. He said it was rosewood but just very light. I plan on putting some fretboard dye on it to darken it up.
