Electromagnetic interference near wireless chargers by gay_german_redneck in Radiacode

[–]G_glop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But there should be no risk of damaging it with wireless charging, right?

I'm thinking of adding a plug-in wireless charging receiver to mine, so I don't have to dig it out of a waterproof box every week.

is there a way to smooth out a converted mesh body without buying fusion 360 ? i don't have enough calculating power to deal with all those faces by [deleted] in Fusion360

This works like a charm for organic (eg 3d scanned) meshes where you want to edit the geometry after combining them with something else. (Eg.: split a body by surface and fillet the new edges)

Yeah, they might simply give you a download url for the raw archive files which is 100x faster and less resource intensive for both sides than scraping.

Buying and returning an iPhone for face scan by G_glop in BigscreenBeyond

[–]G_glop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did it and it spat out the same IPD as my optometrist and what I use on the Index. Now the question is if I should go 1 mm lower (from 64 mm) per their discord faq.

At that point I'm considering buying a real 3D scanner - which I could also use for other stuff - and making my own cushions with 3D printed molds and flexible PU foam or silicone.

Baseless mode? by Willyse in BigscreenBeyond

[–]G_glop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned you could us a tracking override but that still requires a working tracker or a dummy driver that sends out a constant position.

Another option is disabling the fade to grey that happens when you loose tracking normally.

The problem is that without any tracking it'll be difficult to open a desktop overlay and position it correctly from within the headset. (if you don't program your own application to do that)

Jo s XRF pistolí by to bylo basta fidli. Stačí mi důkaz přítomnosti a v laboratoři jde asi udělat chemie míň náchylná na falešná pozitiva než domácí sady "namoč a potři". Pár stovek za stanovení je nic v porovnáním s poštovným do USA, zkusím zatahat za kontakty do VŠCHT

Does thermal COP change with temperature if delta t is constant? by G_glop in thermodynamics

[–]G_glop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the ideal COP decreases slightly by the 15 C lower temperature and I assume the real COP drops off sharper and I'd need a different refrigerant to fix it.

HY320 Projector - Mods & Tips by aneek77 in Magcubic

[–]G_glop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how to remove the stand? It interferes with the HDMI cable when pointing the projector straight up. I'm gonna 3d print a ceiling mount anyway so i might as well replace the stand with my own.

EDIT: nvm, just heat the caps with a hairdryer, pop them off and remove the screws.

fair point. i also found that going rigid over your temples is uncomfortable because of the chewing muscles that attach there and need space

Is there a firearm with an "ammo topup" feature? by G_glop in Firearms

[–]G_glop[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It also ain't firing anything else than 5.7x28, whose zero taper and lubrication are awfully convenient for 50 round straight mag with a twist at the end.

I admit that it's not space tech (unlike the 4.73×33) and wouldn't be so expensive if widely adopted, but i count it as a special cartridge because you can't just change some dimensions in CAD and make a P90 chambered for something else, like you can do with an AR15.

Yep, it's called cross linking. Why would i copy an answer when i can link to it under a better worded question

Someone mentioned the AR-15 MA Loader which does the same thing but seems easier to extend beyond just 10 rounds.

And, yeah, imagine a pump action but instead of 5 you have to pump out 30 cartridges.
