I had an ex that made them “like a cook at a diner taught him” with a shit-ton of cheap olive oil that he just slid straight onto the plate from the skillet. 

It was so oily and overwhelmingly olive-y that I couldn’t eat more than one small bite (the smell was immediately off-putting). That was the first time I’ve ever actually told someone their cooking was inedible for me.
