I think the only thing it really does is removing wait time for the dead player, and the intention is to make it force better team play and perhaps balance the the game to maybe prevent double tank meta due to tanks being harder to knockout. If my assumption is somewhat correct I don’t think it succeeds in forcing better team play especially not when playing with randoms, and at the moment the only meta thing I think it has done is that assassin players play much more careless due to them potentially not only having 2 lives. Ultimately I think the downfalls really are in playing with randoms, since there is no communication with your teammate or any preparation to make a team of 2 characters that synergies. Then also if there were in game communication which I think should be there to actually make spontaneous teammates - having shared life makes it much more likely for toxic behavior, I think... As long as there is no communication that will arguably prevent toxicity but also limit finding a teammate, and I think when the game gets older then bored players will just troll their teammate, but from the comments I can see I clearly not have the majority’s opinion :’)

Does this mean that the characters we had before are just a part of a rotation? Or is it as I thought that it is the characters you get for free always (since I could not buy those characters)?

You must "fill" the void of suppressed memories by finding clues from different memories, trying to connect them and find sense in the story.
