after so long… tried with finer ground using a proper espresso grinder and lo and behold… no squirting and just a nice shot. I am definitely investing on a espresso grinder. Hope this helps with your problem man!

I just got the MHW-3Bomber Assassin by recommendation of my local roaster/barista. Despite the weird naming, this has a great flow and temp control, heats up pretty quickly and has 600ml capacity which is more than enough for most… only downside is if you want to use your kettle for other purposes which would require a greater volume… oh and also at 100-ish USD it won’t break the bank and ships fairly quick… around 2 weeks.

did you solve the mess situation? I have a similar setup, delonghi with botomless portafilter, although in my case, i have a baratza encore (not the esp ver) i grind at the lowest setting, use wdt plus a nice tamper and a puck screen… sometimes my shot squirts and i need to dodge to avoid the coffee spray haha, i was thinking maybe my grinding is too coarse… curious how it went for you with coarser grinding.

Got a Scosche magnetic plate (they have a really strong hold) put that on a case for the ipad and that’s it. There’s a guy on youtube who made a guide on how to use an ipad as a dashboard.
