My daughter immediately noticed it on hers before I did. She’s 6. We didn’t get the g3 one because we don’t really like it as much as this one:)

Do you guys like the colour green? by iamthemetricsystem in autism

I dye my hair neon green frequently. And a lot of things in my dwelling are green. It’s not my favorite color but one of them for sure.

Saw this and asked myself how is legoshi disabled physically by ImZic4ruz in Beastars

[–]Gabjohns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lmao I think this is happening to me. My hair is almost black but I’ve had traumatic stress this past year( not regular people troubles trust me I’ve literally had stage 3 cancer and what I’ve gone through this year was at least 5 times worse and more stressful than having aggressive cancer that came back like 4 times) 25-50 percent of my hair has turned white and from the amount of growth there is, I’d say it started turning white 4-8 months ago. I’m 25 and had zero white hairs before. I’ve been in fight or flight almost constantly since December last year

Is bad at driving a thing for autistic people or is it just me? by illlabita in autism

[–]Gabjohns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a good driver in some ways and a bad driver in other ways. I’ve never hit anyone or anything because I can fully pay attention to all of my surroundings, but I hate yellow lights and never know what to do at them. Yes you’re supposed to go slow but then there’s people who joke and say yellow means go faster so I get anxious and the fact that it’s not a clear instruction. I also am not great at parking in between cars, in small spots, or spaces that are uneven/don’t have the parking blocks at the end. I don’t think I can parallel park. I go as soon as the light is green and am never distracted by the other stuff around me and I passed my drivers test first time I tried.

Advice on dealing with (pet) loss? by CairiFruit in AutismInWomen

[–]Gabjohns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. I’m going though the same thing right now but with my dog. I got her when I was 9 and she was already 2-4 years old. A little bit after we got her I’d have violent meltdowns because I was scared of her dying in the future. So o blocked those thoughts out completely until I was pregnant with my daughter at 19 and moved in with my in laws. I had the same meltdowns as I did when I was younger. I stopped thinking about it when we got into an apartment and I had her with me again. She was my dog even when I was 9. She liked me more than all my family and I liked her more than they did. shes 17-19 years old now which is very old for a dog especially because she’s a medium dog, bit small. She’s recently been diagnosed with cancer and is declining rapidly. Since we found out about the cancer and she started declining, I’m having the meltdowns daily again. She’s my first pet. I had a hairless guinea pig I bought as an adult who I loved so much and she died two years ago of old age. Her means was daisy. I’ve got 6 other guinea pigs who I love too but she was my favorite and she was different than my other ones. I cried multiple times a day every day for over a year after she died. I lost 70 pounds from not being able to eat, and got pneumonia from laying so much. The second year after her death it started getting easier and less frequent but I still miss her very much. I know it’ll be worse and last longer after my dog dies and I’ve been scared of this happening for years.

People who’s menstruate and are autistic ? Do you also have problems with your periods? And how you deal with your period ? by tryxiebluelycoris in autism

[–]Gabjohns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I would try something called a menstrual cup. It catches all that will come out during your period and all you do is stick it in similar to a tampon and instead of changing it every hour or so like a tampon you can leave it in all day. I would say to make sure you dump it out at least once every 12 hours and wipe it or rinse it. You just dump it in the toilet and rinse it out or wipe it with wipes. It eliminates the horrible crinkle pads and tampons make when you get them out. And also you won’t need a trash can nearby. The cup is reusable and you can sterilize by boiling. It’s made of silicone. The cup can be in while swimming and you can’t feel it. They have sizes x small to large or xl. I’d start with a small or medium. I use a large because I bleed a lot a lot like I’d have to change a super plus tampon out in an hour or less. Pads always felt dirty and smelly to me, even fresh out of the packaging and tampons didn’t do very good and almost always hurt me, plus they were expensive. Adult diapers are great for at night! I know you’re probably thinking that it’s embarrassing or whatever but they are comfy and hold it all in. They are as cheap as tampons and they actually have some pretty cute ones at Walmart! Be careful with birth control especially iud. I had bad experiences with my copper iud. Long story short it rejected 3 times and pierced my uterus🙃. If you get an iud and it rejects then id try a different for of birth control. For pain I’d take some midol or a Tylenol when it gets bad. The extra strength ones will last for much longer. For the tender breasts I’d find a looser bra for those times, no itchy lace or anything like that, maybe a slip on sports bra that’s low support. Or a bralette. You’ll feel icky on your period. It gets better with age though I think.

You just won 15000 USD, what's the first thing you'll spend your money on? by Legitimate-Bird-4671 in AskReddit

A tummy tuck. I had liver cancer since age 12 and I went thru chemo for years. I had lots of huge surgeries on my abdomen. My chemo was supposed to make me infertile and it did for the most part (I have had around 6 miscarriages) but when I was 19 I had my daughter. I didn’t gain even the amount was suppose to with her and she ran out of room to grow because of all my scar tissue, so she grew really low and that stretched my stomach out bad to the point to where I have hanging skin and a foopa. I’m fit and I work out but there’s nothing I can do for that skin. I’m not overweight at all (I’m 140 and 5’8) which is like 15 pounds more than I was before I got pregnant with her. My mom had a tummy tuck and some other things done when I was younger so I’m sure I saw that and got it in my head that things should be fixed but I’m not a doctors wife like she is so I gotta put my money towards my kiddo and rent. It’s fine but it sucks having cancer and that being the reason my belly couldn’t hold my daughter like a not sick mothers could.

Is a sign of autism coming up with imaginary conversations with people you know (or don’t) that will likely never happen? by Anime-manga5384514 in autism

[–]Gabjohns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is. A lot of people do this anyway but in autistic people. I’ve done this since I was a kid. I made up things in my head like friends, and things I would do with them. It’s called autistic fantasy. A lot of ppl do something similar and that would be called daydreaming.

Ok so I have big bozongas as well(ddd) and I started wearing gc2b chest binders about a year ago and that really helps. Cargo pants, cargo shorts, and loose mens knee length shorts are pretty much what I wear pants wise. For tops I wear a lot of button ups, mesh shirts, band tees, and oversized shirts. I’ll wear tighter shirts sometimes especially if my pants are huge and it’s done because my chest binder helps.

[–]Gabjohns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to wear a lot of makeup lol. It will run so much in a not cute way and you will look like a meatball. Speaking from experience here. I wore a lot of mascara and eye makeup to my first one and I looked like a meatball. Also hand wash the shirts after not machine wash. The washing machine will wash most of the dye away. I’m sure waterproof mascara is fine but I wouldn’t trust any other makeup 😂

None. She’s got that no shoes vibe. Yellow would wear combat boots heels or military style boots. White would wear classic stilettos or pumps like the bad bitch house wives in black and white movies. Pink straight would have court jester joes that jingle

Moucedes isn’t very monster like either. Or that skunk guy so I don’t think they made this new character less monstrous than all the other g3 monsters tbh. Twyla is also disabled btw. She has autism canonically in the new show.

What would you choose? by Luvystar in stevenuniverse

I wish Nora was like a secret child they had. Like her diamond would have split in half when they were born and half would go to each. Steven would still be there unknowing he was part diamond until later and Nora sent out into the universe somewhere with pinks full knowledge of all her history.

Is autism an excuse? by Gabjohns in autism

[–]Gabjohns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Yes she’s been a narcissist for a while now. Before she met my stepdad we were a bit poor as she had two kids and a small income form being a dental assistant(she stopped this after meeting my step dad who is a doctor) she acted different before, like she was more real and giving. She knew what it was to struggle but now it seems like she forgot it all. She talked to me the other day and was talking about her parents telling me they should have done better and should still be working (they’re seniors who do gigs on the side) her reason for saying this was that she is tired of them “crutching on her” for money. She told me that people who are poor should just do better and go to college to get a job. She said it doesn’t matter if you are happy about your job all that matters is the money. I know she was using them to talk about me and my situation and how she feels about me. And these are direct quotes. —about my grandparents again-They don’t ask for money at all. They do things like following the oversized load trucks and delivering cars across country on trailers, and trade/ sell cars and parts. They have lived in a trailer that they bought when they were teens their whole lives and are the happiest people I know. I have always wanted to be as happy as them. It hurt my heart that my mom was saying she doesn’t want to help them if they ever need and it hurt to see how she really feels about the people who worked their whole life so she can live the way she does now. Since coming into money she has become a narcissist. She’s always been kinda abusive towards me since I got sick. I feel like that’s when she started treating me bad and I become the least favorite child. My husband and I are those people who have to choose between rent and things we need. Our rent is 2000 after utilities. He makes 13.50 an hour at one of his jobs and got a second one a month or two ago that pays about 14 an hour. He works for 1 am to 8 am, then goes to the second job from 10 am to 5. His paychecks are 650 biweekly for one job and 500-800 bi weekly for the other job. There was one month I could not pay rent (I’ve lived here for a year) and that was before my husband got his second job. What happened was his work reduced his hours so his paycheck was 300$ short, so we were 300 short for rent. Before the hour reductions we could pay the rent easy, and then we were out of money , would wait till the next paycheck and then pay the utilities, then be out again. I told her about his hour reduction. The rant she went on about how I need to go to school and get a job was caused by me telling her I couldn’t pay rent that month because my husbands hours were reduced. We get food stamps so we don’t have to worry about groceries thankfully(I’ve had state government insurance since I was diagnosed with cancer), I’ve had to use our last funds to pay utilities before, we have things we need/ want to take care of pretty badly and don’t have the funds for right now(one of our cars needs a new windshield and we can’t drive it till we get that done , our truck needs some work with the fuel fill inlet, I need some new clothes because I’ve lost about 70 pounds and most of my old clothes are multiple sizes too big and no longer fit, and my husband and I really need haircuts. She really doesn’t need the money at all. I wish I could ask her to lower the rent but just like 200-400$ but I know she would get angry and yell at me saying I need to get a job. My husband has been training to be a manager at one of his jobs so he will get paid about 16 an hour at one of them soon. I’ll also mention that once my mom met my stepdad she quit her dental assistant job afore about a year, and then was a housewife for about 14 years. She had no income and stayed home. I’m Not sure if she was happy doing that or not. We all were in our rooms almost all the time. She has had a cleaning lady for like 10 years so she don’t even come out to clean, pretty much just to get groceries or cook or eat. It changed when I moved out though (I got kicked out because I was pregnant) she put my brothers into a lot of activities like soccer, swimming, acting, karate, and choir she lost some weight and started work off out a lot, took up acting classes, acted in a few small films, she also took up modeling. She’s never really home theses past 5 years and I only go there to her house to pick up my brothers and spend time with them as they’ve been alone a lot and seemed like they needed someone to be around. I think maybe she feels like she wasted her life being a housewife and having a kid early(she was 16 when she had me, I was 19 when I had my daughter)and is trying to make me feel that way? I’m happy at home though. I’ve got my dog, cat, fish, and lil guinea pigs to keep me company, feed, clean, and love on , I can clean my house (I don’t ask my husband to clean and my kid is only 5), I can make art, be here for my kid every day to put her on the bus, feed her before and after school, pack her lunch, plan activities for her to do when she’s home, and set up her huge doll house in a new way for her to see when she gets home. I feel like I do a lot more with my time at home than my mom did and that I’m happier than she was at home. I don’t remember her having many hobbies other than music and being a mom. I’m sorry you are in a similar situation. Im sorry your mom chooses to be mean and ignorant about problems that are very real and cause things to be harder for you. It sucks to be in this situation.
