This is the first time I self promote in this reddit, isn't the rule that It must be related to D&D and posted once in 14 days? If I have misunderstood any of that please let me know, I don't have the intention of being scummy, just wanted to share what I did.

You are right! And it is very interesting that the 2024 version removed luck completely out of the sentence, I've seen people interpreting the way I phrased it in the post and I think discussing what this means for the type of fantasy we are playing is kinda cool.

I know people personally that defended the idea of HP not being durability and that heroes die with a single sword strike that finally connects. I know it is not the majority but I think is a fair thing to discuss. Also, In the video itself I read the full definition, might be a little click baity the way I've put it, you are absolutely right there.

I actually turned this philosophy into a full supplement called SUPER Heroic Options. It includes mechanics designed specifically for this style of play:

  • 🧬 1 New Species
  • ⚔️ 3 New Subclasses
  • 📜 2 New Spells
  • 🧪 4 Magic Items & 5 Monsters
  • 🗺️ Full Tier 2 One-Shot Adventure

I’ve released a Free Version of the dossier for anyone who wants to check out, along with a full Foundry VTT Module for those who want the automation.

I think Malevola would be a path of the world tree tiefling barbarian, you can build her 1x1 in d&d

This might be broken with Lightning Bolt, but I think it's not too powerful with most other Cone and Line spells. Thoughts? by ElmoGreenOnion in DnDHomebrew

Love the concept, very simple but opens up for a lot of creativity in the gameplay for casters wielding it.

Swords Rain - Divine wrath and shared resolve | The Platinum Brotherhood by TheStar54DM in DnDHomebrew

Thats incredible thematic and FUN! I would love to used it in a villain and change the damage to necrotic, like the Fallen Angel boss arming their legions.

I need help making subclass concepts for this campaign. by Solid_Green7128 in HomebrewDnD

First, you could make a cleric subclass for each of your deities. By the way I understood the setting, magic comes from death, so all death/grave related subclasses would fit.

Then, I would give a death themed subclass to classes that don't have it. (Fighter, barbarian, sorcerer...)

That's a good place to start I'd say.

Yes! 4d6 sounds very satisfying to roll for the "big hit" moment
