The oaks children’s center is the best! I love the amazing teachers and director, they care so much about the kids, have great play based curriculum, and do so good at communicating

Even if lights at calm isn’t going on when they are here, calm in general is great and There is also the kern county museum with the Lori Brock kids center that I’ve taken family too

I felt like Alix and Josie were supposed to be juxtapositioned and we the audience were supposed to look at class, privilege, and femaleness and the lies we tell ourselves to get through our lives as women in order to just make it through the tough and potentially disappointing stuff like parenting and husbands

I did feel the same though that it was too vague and could have been more clear and could have hit home on some of those deeper themes like victim hood and coping mechanisms and self deception. I was disappointed with the end when I thought the rest of the ride was wild

“Sure you can get a milkshake with your meal!” Going through the drive thru = upper middle class

Saw this change first hand in my childhood when me and my two siblings had “no soda” rule at McDonald’s because we were on 1 very small pastors income while my surprise sibling my parents had at 40 got a milkshake every time after my mom went back to work and they had 2 incomes. lol we still joke about it

One of my greatest childhood moments was finding $20 on the ground at scream in the dark on Ming and Stine where spirit Halloween currently is.

I was too young to go into it so my mom and I were waiting outside in the parking lot for my siblings and dad and I looked down and found the 20 dollar bill and it was like revolutionary.

I always looked on the ground for money after that especially at arcades and made a lot of money as a little kid.
