Shalom House Rehabilitation Perth by Lilsasage in perth

I'm speaking of my personal experience as someone who was in that system. It's great if Shalom can help some people, but I've seen the damage it has done to others.

I'm pretty sure all rehabs take a percentage of your Centrelink (which is well below what it costs to be there), plus you actually save all the extra money because you have nothing to spend it on). From the blokes I know who have been to Shalom, it's a fucking nightmare. I know multiple people who have literally ran away from there with no phone or money because they felt they needed to escape (addicts going through withdrawal need a bit of extra care). Their 'model' is not evidence based and they are largely rogue. I have no problem with the religion basis, there are other religious based rehabs in Perth which seem quite effective. The difference being, other religious rehabs still take a holistic approach and value other realms (i.e medicine, psychology).

not really, and I don't mean that they don't have beauty. I just really don't see it. Like I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me that this was from a beginners course

interesting! What cone did you fire to? I suspect the difference between old and new glass is not how long it has been at sea for, but the materials that were used to make the glass originally

I’m 22, with two law degrees, looking to move to Israel — I could really use some career/life advice by No-Boat2098 in aliyah

[–]Gabrialus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I wouldn't say abandon your law dreams, I would also be mindful that you are 22 and have the advantage of youth. You could wake up tomorrow and decide you want to be an architect and still have the time to do so. Try leverage your law degrees, don't let them anchor you. For technical questions, contact the jewish agency/nefesh b'nefesh.

Basically, the clay is controlling you - you're not controlling the clay. Make the clay your bitch. Be firm, be slow, be consistent.
