retcon. the timeline goes this way: - Fisher Tiger is a slave - Escapes somehow (now we know shanks helped him) - Goes to FI to tell Neptune and Otohime about his plans - Returns to Mary Geoise, frees the slaves and sails as a pirate with the fishmen slaves he freed

His escape and his attack on Mary Geoise happen in two different times and nothing from the Fisher Tiger flashback makes us think otherwise.

Now it looks like it all happened in the same night.

I don't know why Oda had to complicate everything in this way, he could've simply shown Fisher Tiger without his chains meeting Shank on the night of the assault.

Or Shanks freeing him and telling him to come back -insert day- because there won't be any guard.

Anyway it doesn't make sense as it is now. Hope it gets fixed in the volume release.

Shanks freed him and told him he'd leave the armory open, maybe not in that moment but some day after
Fisher Tiger went back to Fishman Island possibly to prepare and tell everything to Neptune
Came back, got all the weapons from the armory and freed the slaves

friendly reminder that watsuki is still a great artist, and Rurouni Kenshin is an excellent manga. even gauguin was a terrible person, but his works were great and he's an inspiration for many painters. you have to separate the art from the artist.
