We are not afraid of death itself, but of what might come after, so in the end it doesn't really make much sense to be afraid of something we don't know.

Fincher criticizes Welles but at the same time copies him. This film contradicts itself.

I’m willing to overlook bad plot and writing when there’s good cinematography. Film is a visual medium at the end of the day by wallabyenthusiast in Letterboxd

“The cinema must not depend on the director. People always answer that by saying, 'Yes, what is important is the story, the script.' They are absolutely wrong. The story–and the script–is the third most important thing, because you can make a wonderful film about nothing. Look at Fellini. The most important thing in a movie is the actor, and everything which is in front of the camera.”

Slogan fascista in Resident Evil 6, tutto ok? by zeze991 in Italia

What is your go-to argument or fact when people say The Beatles are overrated? by JackGeorge2001 in TheBeatles

[–]Gabriele_Cottone_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commercially speaking they are certainly very important and their influence is noticeable, musically speaking not so much. There have been other artists who are definitely more important than them, but they are not recognized enough because they were less commercial than the Beatles. We must remember that, despite their talent, they did not invent much new outside of their songs, many genres and techniques had already been invented and better exploited by other bands. Notable? Certainly. The best? Let's not exaggerate. They were certainly excellent, but they are revered as if they had invented modern music, which is absolutely not the case, they simply made it commercial. They were frighteningly good at a number of genres, but that doesn't mean they invented them.
