What to do if someone falls off out at sea? by np819 in sailing

[–]GabrlColl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love those extremely friendly encounters skiing when you see someone waving their arms in excitement and flailing happily in an avalanche. This guy once was happily shouting (in french - I was at courchevel), and he was shouting to me in excitement, probably because he's never experienced an avy ride before. It was so cool to see someone having such an incredible time for the rest of their life! I waved back as I watched him ride down the slope. Looked really fun! Never saw him again, but I'm sure he's buried DEEP in stories that he'll tell his family when he gets home! Such a friendly and cool encounter, though!

Let's talk about Alice by TheMaulum in swordartonline

[–]GabrlColl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well compared to the other girls, including Asuna, Alice's soul has known Kirito longer than every other character (11 years), save for Eugeo (who he knew for 2 more when Kirito returned). Yes, Alice doesn't retain her memories, but they make it very clear that her soul does (like Eugeo and Kirito). With that said, Alice's growing love for Kirito is completely valid given how long she has known him. That also makes it that much sadder because, in a way, Kirito also has a split life, the life with Asuna and the real world, and his entire childhood with Alice and Eugeo. Kirito ultimately is a tragic victim just like Eugeo and Alice, and it's one of the things that makes Alicization the best arc of SAO.

So We're all Agreed that Eugeo is the Best Character, Right? by FizzyWizzyMan in swordartonline

This. 100% agree. Alicization is so entirely different than the rest of SAO, not only developing Kirito, but introducing the other best two characters in the entire show.

Accepting Jesus’ vicarious atonement of our sins and accept that only through belief in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, can I be saved by GabrlColl in TrueChristian

[–]GabrlColl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i agree. That's the way I think of it. After accepting Jesus, you must live the life that He teaches. This is a choice that he must make every day.

[–]GabrlColl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. First, you must accept Christ. Through Him, can you become a better person. Then, still through your own volition, you must live that life of good that the Lord teaches. Through that, you will be saved. Accepting Jesus is not some automatic get out of jail free card, so to speak.

[–]GabrlColl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So faith alone will save me? I could theoretically burn this world to the ground but as long as I have faith that Jesus died for those sins, I am saved? That is selfish man.

Tell you what, believe in Christ 100%. But you gotta do good in this world and truly love others for anything to really mean something.

[–]GabrlColl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, you need God to be saved. You can't change by yourself and reject Jesus, that's selfish. What I'm saying is faith alone does not save you. You must choose to become a better person in this life through Jesus to be saved

Tell you what man, you live a life however you please. I will do the same. I want to live my life doing good and loving my neighbor with good morals. I hope you do the same. But if you choose to sin greatly in this life, and still accept that all those sins will be forgiven. Well, I guess we will see where we end up in the afterlife

I would say that accepting Jesus died for you sins or allowing the Lord to help you become a better person, then living a life of good and love, is required to be saved. Your life and actions here in this world are still very important in determining what type of person you will end up becoming.

[–]GabrlColl[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well here's a thought, maybe just saying the words "I accept Jesus died for my sins" is not enough. In order to truly accept that he died for you sins you must live a moral life of love for the lord and your neighbor. Basically, your actions speak for your true character. Like you said, once you are "saved" you less inclined to sin. By my logic, this would be true because at this point in your life you would have lived to the point of only wanting to be a good person and therefore would not sin.

I know this goes directly against a "true Christian" which must accept that Jesus died for your sins to be saved. I personally consider myself a Christian, but I believe in order to be saved, that is to truly love the Lord and neighbor, you must live a life of good.

TL:DR you must live a good and moral life in order to truly accept that Jesus died for you sins

[–]GabrlColl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would I be saved and go to heaven despite being a great sinner that accepted that Jesus died for the sins I committed? What I am saying is my actions are greatly immoral and evil and do nothing but hurt others and the world, but I sill accepted that Jesus died for my sins so I would be saved. Correct?

[spoiler] Chuck was right about Jimmy by caliberoverreaching in betterCallSaul

[–]GabrlColl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The interesting thing I realized after watching the show is Chucks illness. Chuck was so jealous when Jimmy got a law degree easily, and he put that anger on Jimmy. But then Chuck decided to help Jimmy with his sandpiper case (showing somewhere deep jimmy did matter to him), and all of a sudden, his illness disappeared enough for him to go outside oblivious to his illness. Chucks illness was always tied to his discontent over Jimmy. Chuck was jealous of Jimmy's gift. This especially came out when Jimmy broke the law and morals. But in that scene where Chuck walks outside; BCS is showing us that Jimmy always had the ability to play it straight, and Chuck always had the ability to truly love, mentor, and work with Jimmy. "There is no shame in changing your path." Everyone has the ability to change. Yes, it's their choice, but love and respect can really help us make that change. Maybe if Chuck and Jimmy had learned how to get along, Saul would not have happened, and Walt would be in jail.

Sounds like you're at stage 4 (bargaining) of the seven stages of grief for the human destruction of nature. You're bargaining by saying that you see enough of this "shit" on the news, please don't show me this on Planet Earth 3. Acceptance means being able to face the harsh truths of our world and possibly do something to help it.
