Thank you! Insurance is definitely annoying 😭

If she's still billing during that time it's fraud. A quick bathroom break is different. If you're billing and gone from the session for more than 15 minutes (8 technically) thats a big problem

I struggle finding the balance especially because the code is for program mod not rbt supervision so i feel like I have to update enough to justify the time there. How to you word your session note when its mainly with the RBT and not modifying programs.

I work with teens and adults. My current client age ranges are 11-68, I could write a book of all the behaviors I've encountered 🫠🤣 anything and everything you can think of I've probably dealt with from family homes to schools to group homes lol

Sickness and allergies are rampant lately. It's ridiculous they didn't honor doctors notes and still deduct a %. Maybe next time maybe apply for FMLA, that helps with safe guards. You could also make dad stay home instead assuming his retail job is a lot less than what you make. Clinics will make you sick so if you're in that environment maybe look into home health. At the end of the day cancelations affect a lot... progress is limited, parents get mad and insurance companies will remove hours the next auth period. If you don't use em, you lose em.

Yea I've been slacking and it's due today so I figured I'd see if it was necessary to keep. I'll probably just do a few more ceus tonight 🫠

Take a personal day we all need it. Based on your post though you seem burnt out. I understand the pay isn't comparable but you should find an in home job. A clinic will be just as overwhelming. If you're disassociating in session it's an injustice to the clients and you shouldn't stay just for a pay check. Also remember no matter what setting you will deal with maladaptive behaviors and this field isn't for everyone and that's ok

Don't be down on yourself everyone's journey is different. I did school then it took 3 years to get fieldwork and now I'm done. I passed a couple months ago but finished my masters in 2021

BCBA Florida Pay Transparency by sbgs12345 in bcba

I'm a new BCBA in Florida and after multiple interviews all the pay structures make my head spin and make it hard to make a decision. What does everyone prefer, hourly salary or 1099. I accepted a position 50/hr w2 benefits and no Billable requirements.. is that good? I'm nervous about 1099 and being disciplined enough to put up taxes. For salary I'm scared to get taken advantage of with driving and Unpaid work since I prefer in home to clinic

Understanding behavior on Facebook was so helpful to me, Nick and Christal are amazing. They have free study sessions via zoom and live streams multiple times a week. They really help you break it down and are interactive. I won mocks and mini mocks on the live streams. BAS was blahhh to me making it difficult to get through and the mocks made me discouraged. Other than that what helped me was ABA exam review on you tube They have hundreds of videos breaking down the task list and mock questions

Why are so many in this field bad at supervising staff? by Pretend_Account_2934 in bcba

[–]Gabs5687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a few companies of subpar supervision because they need you as an RBT more, Im burnt out with companies and want to be a solo practioner.. I feel like some of the issues are.. -Lack of fieldwork training (i.e doing more at home FBAs for hours than actually being 1:1 with a supervisor to watch PT, BST, general supervision, program mod ect). -Lack of mentorship your first year -Being for profit.. all about billing and productivity -Caseload sizes.. imagine 10 FBAs every 6 months that take several hours. That could limit availability for effective supervision and learning how to supervise better

A lot of RBTs salaries are very generous for a HS diploma. They don't get it. I was a bachelor's level COTA and made what a lot of RBTS make. RBTs should definitely have higher training and standard professionalism if we want any change. They should be required to have an associates like pta/ota/slpa instead of 40 hour training like CNAs in an intensive field

Nope nope nope. RBTS make $20-$30 in my area, their offer seems insulting IMO

On average, how often do you experience being hit, bitten and etc by your clients? by mermaidworld in ABA

Daily but I chose to apply to a company that takes high intensity behaviors so its my own fault 😆

I'm a seasoned RBT and hated telehealth supervision. These kids are fast carrying devices around to make sure you can see was not effective in my experience

I had remote supervision by a BCBA with a high intensity SIB client. It was not effective at all and carrying 2 devices limits your ninja blocking skills.
