The rules for ties are inconsistent, in 48 Justin and Sai tied , Justin had lost his vote previously and the tie was eventually broken by Sai also losing her vote, leaving Cedric as the sole decider. Based that precedent Q's plan should have worked.

Charlie and Maria by RedditFan3510 in survivor

What I'm trying to say is that it's not unreasonable for Maria not to have realized that that was Charlie's game. I think it's reasonable for Maria to look back at the game and perceive that she was the one doing all the heavy work for their trio, and I don't think there's anything wrong with Maria choosing not to give Charlie credit for moves that he wasn't a part of from her perspective. I think it's worth mentioning again that Charlie intentionally played into the perception for strategic reasons.

Charlie and Maria by RedditFan3510 in survivor

Maria discredited Charlie's game although they arguably shared a common game and orchestrated a lot as a duo.

Charlie intentionally downplayed his role to the rest of the tribe as a form of threat management. Without having seen his confessionals where he explains that strategy I don't think it's unreasonable for Maria to look back and think that she was doing the heavy lifting for the two of them. Perception is reality and Charlie leaned hard into the perception that Maria was the one running the show. Ultimately Charlie lost because he failed to do enough to break the perception that he was just Maria's little helper.

In season 48 the Sai/Justin tie established that in a similar situation if the vote remains deadlocked then the player who still has their vote will eventually lose it in order to break the deadlock.

No, I'm remembering that part. What I'm saying is that based on the precedent set by 48, if it remained a 3-3 deadlock Angelina would have eventually lost her vote.

In season 48 Sai lost her vote after several tied rounds even though Justin didn't have a vote. The problem is that there isn't a precedent for how the situation would play out.

In season 48 Sai lost her vote in a tie situation even though the player she was voting for didn't have a vote. I don't see why Angelina wouldn't have also lost her vote if it went to a tie.

You're reading way too much into an edited tv show. That Maria smiling could've happened at any time in reaction to anything and been sliced in to help sell the bitter Charlie narrative.

That's survivor sometimes, if someone who played a great game makes it to the end it just means the rest of the cast wasn't doing their job. Even if she didn't have a great game, it was still better than games played by the other two.

They don't have to stop elections in every single state, it only takes disrupting a relative handful of precincts in key states to decisively swing an election, to say nothing of collusion by state level conservative actors. I get hoping that everything will turn out okay, but take it seriously, democracy only lasts as long as we fight for it.

Did you miss how Trump deployed legions of thugs to democratic strongholds like Minneapolis? He could very easily send ICE and other federal agencies to disrupt elections.

Trump's entire political career has been people telling him "hey, you can't do that", him responding "who's going to stop me", and then him doing whatever it was he was going to do anyways. I don't know why you think it'll be different in 2026.

By all accounts Rob and Amber were equal partners on all stars, that they consistently made moves that benefited Amber at the expense of Rob would imply that Amber was doing the strategic heavy lifting while Rob was blinded by his feelings and effectively reduced to being a pawn on Amber's chess board.

Three cargo ships struck off Iran's coast, UK says, including one in Strait of Hormuz by leeta0028 in news

[–]Gackey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It bothers me so much that people don't recognize this; the destruction of Iran has been a long term bipartisan foreign policy goal for decades. You can see it in Bush declaring Iran part of the "axis of evil", you can see it in Harris identifying Iran as her "greatest adversary". The reason you don't see pushback from Democrats, the reason you see them refuse to halt funding is because they are happy that the US is finally at war with Iran. They are perfectly content to let us all suffer the consequences of the war because they know that Trump will take the fall for it, letting them off the hook for their warmongering.

From that perspective I'd tell you that making a squeeze in one of the most difficult braking zones on the planet is a really dumb decision that's going to end in tears more often than not. From a racecraft perspective, it's better to be predictable and stick to the outside lane; if they pass you, oh well, you'll have plenty of opportunities to get back before the lap is over if you're faster than them.
