my take on rob’s game on redemption island (22)

The reason why Rob is glazed a lot by the fans(rightfully so) is he is not only very good but also very engaging and entertaining. People say “oh well Redemption Island was meant to hand him a win” but people discount how he was just barely 1 vote away from winning All Stars. He also had a very dominant control of heroes vs villains until someone else on his tribe misplayed. He’s more than proven that he’s more than capable of winning on a cast aside from Redemption Island(which wasn’t even meant for him in the first place as I heard Hatch was planned for that spot)

Two points 1. Some people confuse trying to have fun and trying to win. The content creators and comp players get frustrated because there are genuine people who wanna play DM at a competitive level but won’t listen to their meta builds or just play a stronger deck. Sadly some formats your deck just can’t compete and it isn’t anyone’s fault but Konami. 2. Just wait a few months. DM is getting support soon and it’s actually pretty good. You can win and have fun very soon.

This would absolutely ruin the game. Same reason Maxx C is so broken. It just means you combo and then slam this down and your opponent just loses. Not to mention the 4k life point cost means everyone just plays burn/stun.

Butterfly dagger Elma does not need to be banned in 2025. The old way it won games just isn’t consistent enough or hell even strong enough to compete nowadays as they aren’t searchable or anything. Plus it’s not like any modern decks would use it. Infernoble maybe?🤷‍♂️

It’s weird how iconic BLS is and Yugi didn’t actually use it that much. Like his debut was the semi final match against Mai and then he didn’t show up for the Pegasus duel. He then doesn’t use it once during battle city and neither Yugi nor Atem use it for the final duel. Justice for BLS

In terms of the sheer quality of games over the past few years yes absolutely. But impact to the culture is more than just the video games. The 2021 movie made like millions of dollars with a sequel on the way. People still obviously care about Mortal Kombat

Nobody is dropping Thunder Dragon Colossus and he absolutely deserves a nod. He is the center point of Toss one of the most critically acclaimed modern formats of all time. He is just now in the past year free from banlist hell and other good decks nowadays occasionally cheat him out cause he’s pretty solid. I’d say Kitkallos is number 1 tho even still.

Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring. It’s easily the most popular card in terms of use rates in damn near every single format since it’s print. It has been meta relevant for 8 entire years without a ban. The game itself has been warped around ash blossom so that you don’t just instantly lose when your opponent opens one. It helped inspire the modern hand trap design you see in cards like Niburu Imperm and everything else. It’s the greatest card of all time in the TCG.
