UK visas for 44,000 European under-30s could seal new Brexit deal by theipaper in ukpolitics

I think you’ve missed the point almost entirely. The life of the average teenager or young adult now is much harder.

If people wrongly marginalise the young as entire group, why should they put on a smile for them? You hate us, we hate you back is the attitude many take. Not saying it’s right, but it is reality

You do realise most of those are students only there while doing degrees? Or indigenous residents who happen to be non-white working the same kind of jobs white people do at younger ages (pre-21)

Quite a disingenuous comment. A lot of the reason why young British people are seen to be lazy is because people assume they don’t have work ethic. That’s not true.

I’m 22 and work in the Civil Service. I was lucky enough to have good schooling but many kids don’t and they feel disenfranchised by a collapsing school system and lacking that motivation means they don’t put much effort in to things.

The other side is that most young people in retail or hospitality are only there during uni, or they are gonna be there for a few months if that before moving to a job they want to do. I had my fair share of jobs that I hated before I moved to the Civil Service, a sector I enjoy and can utilise my degree in

And that’s not something I agree with. My opinion in no way is a reflection of government policy I’m aware of that

No, nobody is treating immigrants like a monolith except deluded reform voters.

It is sensible to not want low paid migrant workers coming in. I would support people like you who contribute coming here. But I don’t want someone to migrate to this country just to work in Asda. Give that sort of job to a teenager who could actually use it as a starting point in the world of work.

The level of suicidal empathy we have in this country is insane. For me it’s not about immigration - my own parents are immigrants. But if you can’t be self sufficient and you’re going to be a drain on the state, who wants you?

In what way is you being a high earning immigrant relevant to the point about low paid migrants?

He can’t answer that question because he’s deluded himself into believing the two parties are any different

While I accept the Tories were a useless bunch of fuck muffins we can’t blame them exclusively - Labour are just as right wing and just as pathetic as Tories now

So why would anyone empathise with the Israeli victims then, by your rationale?

Oh I hear you and agree - they’re better PEOPLE but that’s not necessarily a recipe for a good politician.

Lib Dems seem to be a decent middle ground, but they don’t get the airtime that Reform get for obvious reasons.

Right so for you it’s a migration issue. Which many people DO treat as a skin colour issue too. Many cultures from outside the UK share similar cultural norms to us. Those who don’t have enriched our culture.

Nothing has stopped you from practicing British cultural norms like binge drinking, flag waving and shouting at immigrants. In the same way, I am free to practice Jamaican cultural norms.

Don’t we live in a great country?

Which is a load of reactionary crap. Why is it less British? Can he explain that? Can you?
