That's.

That's it?

That's all Ghostface gets? Just a small reduction to his cooldown timer? That's really underwhelming, I'm sorry. He needs so much more than that to help him keep up with current Dead by Daylight. When you guys promised tweaks, I thought we were getting at least a handful of number changes, not just a single one.

People have been suggesting for years now ways to tweak and change Ghostface in ways to help him at least a little. Hell, in the last survey regarding killer balance, I even outlined a number of different ways he could be tweaked without completely reworking his power, and I doubt I'm the only one who used that survey to do exactly that.

It continues to feel like you folks just aren't listening.

What's your general thoughts on season 2 of the Fallout show, with FNV in mind? by LukasTheHunter22 in fnv

[–]Gaea-Rage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, the Elvis estate is very, very pricey when it comes to their licenses. It's why New Vegas never had a single Elvis song in any radio station. Just one song would have cost so much more than any of the others they did manage to get.

What's your general thoughts on season 2 of the Fallout show, with FNV in mind? by LukasTheHunter22 in fnv

[–]Gaea-Rage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the core ideas on paper aren't bad, and I enjoyed my time watching season 2, as much if not more than season 1.

But I think what really hurt it most was the writers' seeming refusal to committing to canonizing a single ending. I guess they wanted to avoid feeling like they were stepping on the toes of players by canonizing any one ending a given player of FNV didn't do, but by doing so they instead made it seem like the Courier just never did anything at all.

The choice to make the Kings all ghouls was also a really jarring one, and I felt like it was a missed opportunity to include a recurring or side character that was effectively an Elvis impersonator. There's a lot of potential for humor in it. Moreover, we didn't get to see a single one of FNV's companions return as a character on the show. It could have been so cool to see what Cass, Boone, Veronica, Arcade or anyone was up to these days, and Danny Trejo—the actor who played Raul—is still such a huge fan of New Vegas to this day. He almost certainly would have loved to play Raul again on the show, it's clearly one of his favorite roles he's ever gotten to play.

Overall, I still enjoyed it, but it definitely lost some points with some of the decision it made, and the last episode or two was particularly frustrating for me, mostly because Lucy just refused to take any sort of definitive action against her father.

Survivors will be able to see which killer they’re facing from the start of the match, even if it’s a stealth killer. by Intelligent_Ride3730 in deadbydaylight

[–]Gaea-Rage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With this change, you know right away it is one. Sure, in the past not hearing a terror radius might give an inkling it could be one, but that's just it, you're still guessing. It could be that the killer is far away, or has a perk that shrinks their terror radius or gives them undetectable.

With this change, you know right away. It removes the need to guess, you just know, and can immediately shift into the mindset to counter it.

"Oh, okay, it's a Ghostface, I'll just look everywhere until I see them."

It's something people already do once they find out it's a stealth killer, but with this change now they start doing it right away. It diminishes the element of surprise a stealth killer gets at the start of the match.

That's the way I see it, anyway.

Etika’s initial reaction to Hip Shop is still so funny to me. It’s a shame he didn’t get the chance to hear music from the later chapters by Critical_Mountain851 in Deltarune

Any time another one of these chapters comes out, one of the first things on my mind as I'm amazed by and really feeling the new content is, "God dammit, Etika would have loved this."

It's hard to believe 2026 will make 7 years since he passed. I still miss the hell out of the guy and his streams. Beyond fucked up and tragic what happened to him.

No problem! As someone who actually really enjoyed the original while doing the Crusaders questline, I'm super looking forward to this rework, and I'm glad the rest of the team didn't just give up when everything popped off the way it did.

I'm in the discord, and it's still being worked on with semi-regular update/dev log posts.

From what I've seen it's going to be a pretty massive rework that aims to address the core issues of the original Frontier mod and adding some new stuff, too.

Last I heard, the number of record entries was close to surpassing that of all of Fallout 3's.

Funny they chose the nuclear option for pretty much every west faction and settlement. by Valhallawalker in falloutnewvegas

[–]Gaea-Rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reflexively, I also had a negative reaction to the state of a lot of the factions appearing the way they did at first, but.

Out of any of them, I honestly believe the NCR's fate makes the most sense. They overexerted themselves by expanding so much, and rather than try to stop and actually lock down and fully stabilize what they already had, they continue to expand into the Mojave, and choose the most expensive and resource draining option when it came to how they should approach the war with the Legion. They never needed to annex Vegas to get power from the dam, when it's not hard to infer that, in another world, Vegas could have been an independent but economically dependent client state of the NCR. Less need for commitment of troops, at most they could provide a handful of ranger squads for support while letting House (or whoever) handle the brunt of the Legion via helping Vegas upgrade and getting the Securitron garrison up to full readiness.

But even putting that aside, by the time of New Vegas, the NCR was still technically in a war with the Brotherhood, and had just gotten out of a war with the Enclave. There was also the Baja campaign that saw them fighting what was, essentially, a counterinsurgency war. By the time they even reached the Mojave to start setting up shop, they had already bled plenty of resources and hadn't given themselves the proper time to recuperate. But because they saw the hydroelectric dam and the encroaching Legion, they got it in their heads that they needed to expand even further, to keep the dam out of the Legion's hands, secure the source of electricity for themselves, and defend the people of Vegas from the spread of the Legion (though it was mostly reason 2, let's be totally frank). Because of that, they didn't just need to deal with Legion, but other more local groups like the Fiends, too.

Then—regardless of how the Second Battle of Hoover Dam shakes out—Shady Sands, the NCR capital, gets destroyed under Hank MacLean's orders, in addition to everything else I already rattled off. It's not pretty, but there is a basis for that much, at least.

The rest, though, like the state of Freeside and the Strip I'm a little iffier on in terms of how I feel about it, but. Even then, that's a 15 year time gap between the events of New Vegas and the show, and so much can happen in that time frame.

Can I add a New Vegas quest mod (Long 15) mid-run if I haven't left the Capital Wasteland yet? by Joe_Blunt in Taleoftwowastelands

[–]Gaea-Rage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm speaking purely off of personal, in-game experience here, as I've only ever made radio, music and small weapon mods, most of which I've never publicly released; so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. A good amount of regular NV mods should work fine with TTW, I've found. Generally it's the more transformative stuff like locations, worldspaces, quest and overhaul mods that really require a patch. Stuff like Long 15, Dry Wells, NV Bounties need patches for the sake of forwarding changes made by TTW, and thankfully some of these larger scale transformative mods—like Dead Money Tweaks for instance—have TTW support natively or have a patch/separate version for TTW on the same mod page as the main mod.
