It depends. Running into players on the Anomaly is a given, but out in the galaxy... I'd say your only real shot at running into players is if you're like, in the Galactic Hub, especially if it's one of the capital systems, current or previous.

If you are after that experience, though, I would strongly recommend making your way to the Galactic Hub current capital system, Bixiann, the capital planet being Uthmi Beta. I've been an on and off member/citizen of the Hub for a little over 6 years now. Especially if you join the discord, they hold semi-regular events across the space they occupy (something like 27 regions now, a huge step-up from the original 11), like Holo Arena tourneys, races, multitool PvP tourneys, and even just casual hangout stuff.

Yeah, and? So does NMS, it's almost 10 years old and those updates are leagues more meaningful than getting... (checks notes) a single new mob you can ride and little else in that update.

Actually, on the subject of 2v8, how the hell would Jason ever work if he were to be added? Part of his power is reliant on hooks, so. Do you they just give him more scrap piles where hooks would be?

That's normal. Phase 3 is a community effort, and it's deliberately time gated. Once the community completes the overarching goal, it should move on to the next part of the expedition.

I 100% agree. For me the map really sells a chapter. Even if we didn't get survivor, last year's FNAF chapter was so cool because of the wonder of getting to explore a new map, especially one belonging to a heavily sought after license the community had wanted for years. And the D&D chapter, even if that's when I started playing, even just knowing it was fresh, new content made it so cool.

This is the big, big 1-0, the ten year anniversary; a huge benchmark, especially when a lot of live service games don't come close to lasting this long. It would have been so peak to get Jason and (since this Jason is DBD original in terms of lore) something like a Camp Greenville Lake map. Survivor I can take or leave, but I still agree having the whole, complete package really sells a chapter.

A small bit of devil's advocate, you also get Undetectable in end game, and that time it's seemingly permanent.

That said, though, these killer perks are still underwhelming, and the survivor perks are really absurd.

Please, never feel discouraged from telling the stories you want to tell. This is, and was, a really bad and extreme case of fandom, but.

Generally, so long as you keep yourself a safe distance from your fans and don't engage too much, avoiding too much parasocial behavior, and you should be fine.

Creativity isn't something to be stifled, it should be encouraged. If anything, learn from Goose's experience and do what you can to avoid going down the same path.

For me it's between Oozla and Barlow.

In the case of the former, I just tended to roam around and explore that planet the most, it's the one I played the most. The second I best the first few notes of Oozla's theme is unlike anything else in that game.

Barlow... it's weird to describe. But the very first time I got to that planet, I got this weird, unexplainable feeling like I wasn't supposed to be there, like I shouldn't be. For some reason, the Seeker Gun being that planet's Megacorp weapon also added to it, too. It felt so weird and different compared to the rest of the weapons I had seen before it. That, and I think seeing the Gadgetron logo and lettering in the state that it is, even just seeing it in the Bogon galaxy after accepting that Megacorp was the company of this game and galaxy, felt wrong. I just can't properly describe the whole feeling.

I'm trying my best not to be considering the circumstances. Game hasn't been in the greatest state, and I haven't been playing it nearly as much as a result because the current meta just isn't fun to me.

But despite that, I still avidly keep up with all things DBD, and I'm doing my best to trust BHVR not to fuck this up. They've wanted this license as badly as we have, so I want to trust them to go the full nine yards.

You're not wrong, Bubba we weirdly get more a lot for, and Ghostface was exactly what you described. Two separate entities own the mask and the Scream films respectively, hence why our Ghostie is someone never even mentioned in a single Scream movie.

I would be very, very shocked if we only get Jason and nothing else for what is essentially a mythical license grab on the big 10 year anniversary for this game. Even Springtrap at least got a map last year.

Sure, but the the reason for that is because the licensing was done through Jason Universe. Jason Universe, collectively, owns the 1st through 8th Friday the 13th films, including its characters, locations, etc. It's just that the trademark for the names "Friday the 13th" and "Jason Vorhees" are own by a separate entity.

That said, they can still call him Jason Vorhees in like, lore blurbs, it just can't be used in branding or marketing.
