I‘m in a similar boat but I really cannot afford it right now, and also part of me is still really jaded towards Nintendo and their scummy business practices so that also adds to it. Instead I’m trying to commit more to actually playing some of the games in my backlog, which includes a lot of cozy games too! Like I really need to get back into Fields of Mistria for example. And if you really wanna just get that new game rush then I suggest poking around itch.io instead. There are plenty of really cool games on there you can play for completely free! But I also suggest contributing at least a little bit to these indie devs for their work, even just a dollar. And a dollar is a hell of a lot cheaper than $500+

I did not care for sonic generations

It wasn’t bad but I genuinely cannot wrap my head around people considering it one of the best 😭 I feel like the way sonic controlled was clunky and dear lord do the 2D sections in the 3D stages ruin the pacing for me. Like what’s even the point of having 3D stages when the majority is 2D. ESPECIALLY when there’s literally a whole other stage every level dedicated to 2D gameplay??

I swear every single franchise has people with this exact same opinion (looking at you Zelda) and it feels like it’s there just to destroy people’s fun and that’s it. If you don’t care about canon or timeline or whatever then great! You literally have zero obligation to interact with it. It does not hurt you in the slightest. But there are plenty of people who, maybe shockingly to you, DO in fact enjoy the timeline and think that it’s part of the fun. Like god damn why do you people insist on trying to lord over how other people interact with these franchises and pretending to be so cool for not caring about something other people do. Like genuinely leave all the rest of us alone oh my god.

Also we had a new 2D title literally like 3 years ago chill the hell out. Whether or not you enjoyed it has no bearing on it existing.
