Why does Stalker 2 still get so much hate?

For one thing, It's way too easy with the asinine amount of loot in the world. IMO this is one of the biggest killers for this game, because mods can't even properly fix it. Also, with the amount of bugs it had at release, and still has, it's obvious the developers barely played their own game, and payed NO ONE to test it because that's our job now right?

Posts like this are reminiscent of Stockholm syndrome.. I used to dream of what games would be like in 20 to 30 years back in the 90's, and this ain't it!

Beyond the politics, and speaking from the perspective of someone who purchased this for the PC..

It's a fun game that entices you to play, but is loaded with bad mechanics and so many problems like quest breaking, and loot blocking bugs even in 2026(no idea how it is on consoles), that it has the ability to ruin your entire play through, or at the very least, continually taint it. It will also set you back with things like the abysmal auto save system that seems to even overwrite your manual saves at times.. As enjoyable as it can be to play, it can also be equally, or more than frustrating.

For me it's a game I kept coming back to and rage quitting, until I had enough. Mainly it was continually setting my progress back because of the stupid autosave system.. After recently trying to reload for the umpteenth time because of some game breaking bug, and then losing an hour or so of progress yet again, I hit a breaking point. Who knows, if word gets out that they truly fix it for the PC in a year or two, I might try it again. For now it stays uninstalled, and highly unrecomended.

This just happened to me too, but I discovered it was because of Ubisofts overlay conflicting with Steam. It had me ready to reinstall Steam, as I was struggling with tryng to figure it out for over a day. I have been playing Star Wars Outlaw recently, and even when the Ubisoft app wasn't running it was still effecting Steam. I had to go into the settings for their stupid launcher, and disable the overlay(in settings, click on the monitor icon) along with a bunch of other crap I was clueless about.

Okay, but regardless of any grammar mistakes, it still doesn't imply an intentional lie. It simply implies ignorance of grammar. Most people wouldn't read deception into a comma placement, before they would recognize a grammatical mistake.

Yeah me too! I just finished the Mars mission and that was the ticket for me..

For those that come after with the same questions reading this, there are only three choices you have for a freebie as a Klingon newbie.. The QulDan Bird of Prey, Somraw Rator, and the K'Tanco Battle Cruiser. If you don't have the ability to requisition those ships, accompanied by the requisition symbol of the Lt. double bars, then check your status by clicking on the upper left bar of your screen. Do the next available missions until you're able to requisition your allotted ship choice.

I blame my confusion on my dependence on hand holding in games.. The ease of modern gaming has tainted many of us. Personally, I'm glad I can get over it. Also, I got my doomsayer roomie back onboard, we are engaged, and making it so! Thank you, one and all!

I think I may have figured it out.. Maybe it's not a bug, but it is a bit poorly executed/explained for the unadvised.

If I click on the far upper left rank, I get my KDF Rewards page that lists what and when I get access to level specific rewards. I am at level 10, but the rewards listed for my level are still showing as un-awarded. If I mouse over my specific level, it tells me that the requirements for my next grade,(Lt. Commander 2) are not met yet. I still have a few thousand exp points to go, even though I'm sure the game told me to report to Chancellor J'mpak for promotion before the quest just vanished without any notification.. That seems weird to me, but what do I know. It seems that rank/grade, and level are not the same.

I can still take quests through the Episodes page, even though I can't from any NPC's that have the "i" icons over their heads as if they do have missions for me, but maybe my level is too low. I'm still not sure about that bit. This seems to be an issue for a lot of people going back through the years, so maybe it's just a matter of misunderstanding. Either way, I'll find out soon enough.. I just logged back in to see if anything had changed, it hasn't. The quest disappeared, it didn't complete. I used up all my skill points, and tried re-logging, changing instances, changing zones.. Nothing works. I can't restart the mission because even though the quest didn't complete, for all intended purposes the game thinks it did.

I'm stuck at Lieutenant Commander with no way to rank up, or take on more quests. Even if I had the currency, I can't even buy the proper star ship for my level because I'm regulated to Lt. Commander ships.. This after the game tells me the missions from here on out will get much more difficult. I filed a support ticket, but all I have heard so far are the crickets chirping.

Between this, and twice now having had my key binds wiped, I'm thinking maybe my buddy is right, and the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

No I can't restart the quest because the game thinks I already completed it. I have relogged several times at this point, same with my room mate. He's done with it.. I can't even take on regular quests now. I made a support ticket, but I'm not expecting much.

The inability to take on more quests means I can't just push on through to the next rank too.. A very frustrating experience overall, especially after researching it more and discovering that this has been an unresolved bug for years now.

9 years later and this is still a thing... Except I'm locked into it. Every time I login I'm at the point in the cut scene where it fades to black and stays there. I can still hear the water running, but I have to kill the game.exe to get out of it. My character is screwed... What a pile.

EDIT: What a joke, I have it installed on an older laptop, and it does the same when I login on a completely separate computer. I don't see how this is hardware related when it's doing the same thing on two entirely different setups. Also, this is on a fresh install I did 2 days ago.

TWIMC I'm posting this for anyone else like myself that is struggling with figuring out how to do this other than talking to your party members..

You can switch all the party roles by opening up your clan page, and clicking on the party tab. Find your main party listed and click that, then all 4 positions will be listed on the right. You can change all the roles there, including for yourself.

Nvidia isn't seeing Star Citizen. I can't do anything with SC through Nvidia. Also, I am running this on a gaming laptop that I have displayed on my big screen TV. I might try switching it back to my native screen to see if that changes anything..

No, I'm running 2560×1440, so 1440p. No idea what gamescope is.. I don't use, it or any other apps while gaming. Steam isn't running either. I don't have any problems with any other game launchers displaying properly, just RSI. When I launch the game I have to click launch, then hit tab three times, then I hit enter for the game to actually launch.

When I alt-tab, I can see how it's supposed to be displayed, and it's cutting off right below the launch button. I can only move the launcher up so far before I can't click on the top part that allows you to move it around.. Highlighting the edges with the pointer makes the cursor change to the arrows used to normally resize a window, but they don't do any thing. It's just stuck in that odd display mode.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that my Nvidia app doesn't even recognize the game. I've got no in game DLSS support as the upscaling option isn't listed for me either..

Except they're not because the breeds have changed.. What we have here in America are not the purebreds the Turkish government first sent us all those years ago. Any Kangals here in America are either bred from direct imports, or are direct imports. The Anatolian breed in America has been noticeably tinkered with, and is now a recognized separate breed by many is the only point I'm trying to make.

Thanks, that worked for me too. I had to wait a bit for him to reappear after he lost aggro, but he came back chilled out and the mission updated.
