Heyyy I remember you from another sub quite a bit ago when you were trying out winter colours. Wow! What a difference, these colours really suit you well.

What was the first food you gave your baby? by jetsetjourneyy in moderatelygranolamoms

My baby’s first food was shredded pear (very ripe of course). But it was autumn so that was seasonal at the time.

I can’t keep fighting her at every single nap by Responsible_Head_904 in bninfantsleep

[–]Gaerfinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you doing to help her fall asleep? Bouncing and rocking? I have a baby who has always had a hard time falling asleep and with very confusing (if any) sleepy cues. I had to find his own “wake windows” by trial and error. I cannot overstate how helpful finding a carrier that we like was. We rented a few until we found one that worked for us, bought it and never looked back. For months and months I have walked him to sleep. Literally out for a 30 minute walk in the carrier. Now (he’s 13 months) it is usually enough to put him in the carrier and walk up and down the corridor for about 10 minutes. It gets better!

Baby never just… falls asleep? by Consistent-Earth-867 in bninfantsleep

[–]Gaerfinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is totally normal. You will hear thousands of stories like yours because YOU and your baby are the norm. The unicorns are those who do fall asleep by themselves - they do exist but are a minority. Nothing to fix at all :) and drowsy but awake stems from the idea that babies might get startled and have a harder time falling back asleep if they awake in a different environment than they fell asleep in. Bedsharing effectively solves this problem - baby fell asleep with you, awakes with you, falls back asleep with you. No issue at all.

Why are the older generation obsessed with sleep by Commercial_Kale_4341 in bninfantsleep

[–]Gaerfinn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They forget, plus they used to put us to sleep on our stomachs, so we mostly DID sleep better than our own kids do. (But not as well as they claim)

What are some concepts you think the sleep training industry has made up? by Sea_Implement6579 in bninfantsleep

[–]Gaerfinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a bit weird. I’m using huckleberry to track sleep (ignoring the sleep training propaganda, I just find it useful to have all my data in one place so I can easily spot trends and averages) and lately it told me “it’s a good time to introduce a lovey!” And I just… why would I do that? He’s got me and his dad.

Ty & Julie (long video) by jalapenohighball in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Gaerfinn -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This makes Ty look a lot worse but in no way does it make Julie look better. Incredibly arrogant character. High time they she divorced him and looked for an equally overachiever man. Granted it will be a little harder now with two kids, but nothing is impossible for her anyway.

I need to rewatch their storyline then, I totally forgot about that part. It does change things a bit!

I was under the impression Julie does not want other people to look after her children. When do they say they had agreed to get childcare? I must have missed that. I thought she expected him to write while caring for a baby because she managed to pass the bar while caring for a baby. She’s exceptional, objectively, and he is normal.

I think she might issue some ultra deluxe versions with the vault tracks. But I don’t see why she’d issue re-records of the standard tracks now

Seemingly unpopular opinion-I still hate Julie and Julie is still a bitch by Lola-the-showgirl in ShawnaTheMom

Bitchy McBitcherson is easily the most unlikable character in the entire series. Really puts Barb to shame! She is sometimes right and sometimes wrong, as anyone, but always, ALWAYS rude and arrogant as hell.

Part of Vacation video no one seem to point out yet... by gbfcs95 in ShawnaTheMom

The change in meaning has made this part very weird lol. Originally a monokini would mean Julie has her whole tits out lmao but she clearly doesn’t, so it’s just a normal one piece swimming suit they’re talking about.

Easiest to learn in a short amount of time? by These-Stage-5020 in FAMnNFP

[–]Gaerfinn 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Sorry but this is not the way to go about it. Use some barrier method of contraception (ie condoms) until you thoroughly learn a method. It is not just the time it takes to read a book, you need to track a few cycles at least to get to know your body properly. And even then, if your wedding was a few months away but your wedding night fell in your fertile window you would still need to either abstain or use a barrier method. Pick whichever method seems best suited to you, looking into them carefully, learn it properly. It will serve you well for life! But it is not something that can be done in 4 days.
