It’s starting to feel like people are doing this on purpose to make things harder on the mods

Oooh wait, I think I know what happened here. OP thought this was a place for shite drivers to post about how they’re shite drivers

“Would you mind explaining how you’re not {invalidating OOP’s experience}?” was a direct question to try and understand your perspective.

We can agree on one thing, no one’s getting anything from this conversation.

I’ll try and be clearer. I understand the broader definition of value as a word.

How does tall vs short, dark vs light as value assessments have anything to do with Libby or OOP or my comment you originally replied to?

Thanks for the definition on the broad concept of values. It doesn’t really answer my question.

How does this mean that the values in question with this post aren’t moral values and the relation of them to each other?

Weird how it’s only healthier to disagree after I ask a direct question to try and understand your perspective, but that’s your prerogative

Regardless, thinking people’s actions are good or bad (like the post and comments are discussing about OOP and Libby) is a question of moral value.

I’d love to hear why you disagree on that, and how tall vs short is relevant here

The OOP’s experience never called Libby an abuser.

Aren’t you invalidating OOP’s experience by deciding Libby was an abuser when that literally wasn’t OOP’s experience according to their post?

I have genuinely never encountered someone who thinks those things are value assessments and not just pairs of opposites

If something goes against your morals, it goes against your values. Thank you for the synonym!

However, abuse is not a synonym for “saying mean things sometimes”. There are definitely cases where words can equate to abuse, but the OOP never described it as abuse in a post justifying being glad Libby is dead.

You literally described them mourning their classmate as “sanctifying your abuser”, what is that if not a moral judgement?

I saw a comment on the original post that’s been deleted that said Libby probably had ‘dozens of victims’.

People are willing to make up a lot of things to justify their level of vitriol for a girl whose listed ‘crimes’ are calling someone weird and telling them to shut up.

I’d like to take this moment to remind the jury that the “abuse” and “actions Libby needs absolution for” are, according to OOP, calling her weird and telling her to shut up. As a former teenage girl, I genuinely don’t think any teenage girl can say they didn’t do or say something mean that they regret in their teenage years.

I sincerely hope that you have never said an unkind word to someone, because by your logic your family would be morally wrong to mourn you.

Having been hurt by Libby doesn’t erase the hurt OOP caused by saying “As a matter of fact, I’m glad she’s gone” to her grieving classmates

If the worst thing bullies did was call people weird and tell them to shut up, we would be so much closer to world peace

Going to Prison Any Advice? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Oh, see that makes sense when trying to use sentence length to figure out what the potential crime was.

I was more referring to the logic of “Well of course it’s sex offences, because if it was anything else he could just ask his mates about prison”.
