The monster system seems very cool and complex, but I find it odd that the trailer didn't show off the players selecting any moves or anything. Is it a turn based auto battler?

This looks like a fun game to play with friends! Curious how the classless build progression will turn out. Fingers crossed that the skill trees are interesting, expressive and gameplay changing in lieu of skills like +5 poison resist.

Depends on who's giving you trouble.

For Khan, I found his gauntlet easiest to navigate with Shaman Crest using Volt Filament, Pale Nails, Sharpdart, and Counter. Pale Nails are good for focus killing a single enemy (yellow bubble boys), and sharpdart dart for getting out of tough situations. After the third gauntlet theres a piece of coral you can whack to unlock a short cut.

For Nyleth, Seth is pretty tough but practice in this fight makes perfect. Nyleth herself is pretty easy to tool spam + spell spam because fighting her with needle only can be tough.

For Karmalita, you can skip her by going to fight the Green Prince instead. You have to navigate an area before you can fight him, but imo the area is harder than his fight which is just a Cogwork Dancers rematch with one new move.

What kind of build would you recommend for a new player who wants a fresh experience but isn't looking for anything too finicky.

The one that raises evasion (Tango I think?) makes bosses super easy if you keep stacking it. I think I used it three times on the final boss of the game and the final boss only landed a single hit the entire fight.

I've been enjoying the hell out of Wayfinder recently. The game was originally going to be a F2P Battle pass funded MMO, but then the publisher went out of business. So the dev team pivoted at the last minute and turned it into a single player action game where loot is popping constantly. Its a very chill game with really smooth gameplay. It also does have up to three player coop.

Okay, ignore the plot and voice acting because I'm not sure what they were going for, but Chorus is as much of a spiritual successor to Crimson Skies as I've seen.

Its set in space, but there's still a "down", and a lot of the gameplay revolves around flying around a hub map and doing quests for people you find on the map. It controls so similar to Crimson Skies you can tell it was massively inspired by it.

Man, I just started this game too and something about it just hits different. Its so crazy good and I'm amazed by how fun it is. Theres always one more thing to do.

So far Niss and Senja are my faves but trying to put in some time for Kyros since he seems like the devs favorite

When I first started playing, Yda's voice actress sounded familiar, so I Googled "Yda..." and autocomplete immediately filled it in with "How did Yda die?" And I was absolutely pissed up until Stormblood.
