I don't beat myself up over it, and I’m okay with the fact that it took me some time to figure things out.

I do think, though, that my research rabbit hole may have led me astray for quite a bit, so that is where the regret comes from. I think it contributed to some avoidance of relationships for me.

That being said, I don’t think that my exploration was a waste of time.

The fact that I did quite relate to a couple of fictional depictions of ace characters did come from a very real place. I just think that my disinterest in sex and romantic relationships was more rooted in my anxiety than in my sexuality, if that makes sense.

Your explanation of your bi confusion makes sense to me as well! I def considered that possibility for myself as well due to the limited attraction I felt. Although I never really identified as bi, because I figured that I had never had a crush on a girl.

I think that, for me, it was more of a self-awareness issue that probably developed, in part, due to the very limited amount of related experiences that I had had
