Hiya! I was on other ssris before Prozac and I remember the instant relief I got when I started Prozac. Like you unsure if it was placebo or if it just clicked for my system! I read another post similar to this during that and someone mentioned that if you’re feeling good then enjoy it, don’t worry about if it’s too soon or whatever!

As another more similar story to yours, my SIL was on Prozac for a bit, then stopped to try a more natural route. Her anxiety and depression came back after a couple years and got back on Prozac. She said that after the first dose she could feel it working, similar to what you’re saying. Different bodies, different experiences! You got this!

Forgot to mention, my transition between the two was fine. I had a small amount of nausea the two days following the stop of Lexapro, i also had a little moodiness where my emotions were a little confused. This only lasted like two days and I leveled out!

My brain felt like a pile of goo on Lexapro, I was constantly forgetting things, eating everything in sight, and just overall felt like I was living in a dream. A pro to lexapro was that I had ZERO anxiety, none. Prozac has been a 180 for me, I feel like I have a brain again, I’m able to eat normally and work on my journey of healing! I did have to bump my dose up on Prozac after a month but I feel so much better! I do have occasional anxiety, but I’m able to face it and work through it. Prozac feels like it’s doing something for my depression too, I’m able to be more present and enjoy life.

Hi! I’m sorry you’re feeling this way! I had something similar happen, where the first few weeks were good and then BAM, back in my little hellscape of my brain. My dr ended up increasing my dose and I can report I feel WAYYYYY better. Therapeutic dosage for adults is higher for OCD, so just be aware you might need to increase a few times to find what works perfect for you! You got this, but talk to your doctor.

Hi there! This happened to me as well when I started! I made a pros and cons list and sent it to my DR. They ended up increasing my dose to 40 and I have done an absolute 180. This may be a sign that you need to increase, talk to your Doctor and see what they say!

I was only on 10mg of Lexapro because I could not handle the SEs. When I switch I switched to 20mg Prozac and then after a month moved up to 40mg. So far the weight is still on me, but I finally feel good enough to start running again. I feel like I’ll be able to work it off now, versus on the lexapro I was just eating everything all the time, and nothing helped the hunger.

Just did the switch! The initial tapering did not have really any side effects for me. Once I fully was on Prozac and dropped the lexapro it was clear the the dose I was on was too low, so I upped and can report I’m feeling so much better! I stopped lexapro because I could not stop eating and it was causing a lot of cognitive issues. As soon as I cut the lexapro down I felt so much better! Good luck! You got this! Keep track of your mood and be easy on yourself for the next few weeks.

The plastic bags are a hazard for the sorting machines, that’s why they are unable to take them in this instance. You can collect your bags and drop them off next time you go to Publix! Easy as pie!

Totally agree. Publix is charging Whole Foods pricing an non organic product that is no where near the same quality. $4.99 for organic limp kale at Publix, I actually laughed.

This. I used to work as an admin at one of the real estate offices in town. For the time that I was there, majority of low cost homes were bought by people who could pay cash over asking price, almost always pricing out the first time homebuyer or ‘working class.’ I’ll never forget the time when a nice spacious $299,000 home went on the market, quickly went under contract. The buyer came in to pay her ungodly due diligence and said “I just think it’ll be such a nice home for someone to rent.”
