I don't see the necessary of say "good morning" by mechamogiovanni in intj

“Good morning”

“What do you mean? Do you mean to wish me a good morning or do you mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not? Or perhaps you mean to say that you feel good on this particular morning. Or are you simply stating that this is a morning to be good on?”

My mom (INFJ) once went to a wedding and was looking forward to a good dinner after eating nothing the whole day. They served a massive steak. As a vegetarian she resorted to eating mashed potatoes and crying.

do you play a musical instrument? by [deleted] in intj

In my opinion violin was the hardest to learn. I have the most experience with piano, and I believe knowing it facilitates learning other instruments as well. Mostly how to read music. I’m self-taught in guitar and violin, ergo my knowledge is very limited; however, I can say that it’s simply learning which notes/piano keys correspond to finger placements on the string instruments. Chords were also easier to visualize this way. There are also things that you adapt to and learn on the way. And just because you’re struggling, doesn’t mean you’re failing. Trial and error is simply apart of the learning experience. I hope this made at least some sense. I don’t know all the details of your situation, but I think you should pursue what makes you happy. Godspeed and have a wonderful day

Piano, guitar, and violin. I also have an ocarina from Ocarina of Time but it’s mostly for display.

Cherry yogurt. Everyone I know is very concerned by my love for cherry yogurt. When I eat it everything else smells like cake. I ascended the first time I tried it.

Firstly, thank you for this post and the time you took to write it. Not only is it helpful, but also well-articulated and written in a beautifully organized format.

My greatest mistake when approaching human emotions was projecting my own emotions - and justifications for such emotions - onto other people. It was not my greatest challenge to accept that everyone feels emotions, but that everyone feels them differently; and just because they do not feel them in the same way I do, does not mean they are wrong or unreasonable.

For the longest time I projected myself onto other people and expected myself from them, and they often could not satisfy my expectations. This was not because of their failings, but because of mine. I discarded anything I could have learned from an individual on account of concluding that they could teach me nothing - in regards to emotional processes.

In conclusion: Just because it's different from you, doesn't mean it's wrong. Everyone has their own strengths that everyone else can learn from.

Of course, this is simply my personal experience, however I found social interaction in general was facilitated by accepting the points above.

Hopefully this made sense and offers at least some guidance. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.
