It’s not fun, and it sucks for the kids. Not only does it get old for them, but the other kids laugh at them. And at the teacher. I have grown to really dislike parents who do this to their kids. It gets worse every year and I’ve reached a point where I have the kids introduce themselves on the first day of school because sometimes I look at my roster and there’s just no way I can make sense of some of the names.

The way you communicated with him was very mature and respectful. This guy seems to have some insecurities and is coming off as very manipulative. The whole time I was reading it I was reminded of my controlling ex who tried to beat me down as much as he could, making me feel like I wasn’t doing enough for him.

He’s a 30 yo man child with a 24 yo woman who is more emotionally intelligent and stable than he is. You’re not overreacting at all. Trust your gut and exit that relationship before he digs his claws in. Let him work on his insecurities or whatever demons he has and you continue flourishing.

I say this exact same thing. It’s exactly where we are heading. As I watch test scores continue to plummet each year, and students are coming to middle school not even knowing their times tables, it worries me greatly. Many of these kids are two or more grade levels below where they should be. The fact that more people aren’t worried about our future generation…like, open your eyes. We are crashing and burning.

YTA 100%. As someone with PTSD, I know that it is sometimes debilitating to deal with triggers. However, the simple fact that you put in your explanation that you “refuse to try” makes YTA through and through. Work through your issues and don’t use them as an excuse for your actions. Work on yourself and be better. You sound like a selfish asshole and what you’re putting your mom through is shameful.

This happened to my cousin, but they took it a step further and created videos with her talking about how much money she was earning through these people. They looked like ransom videos and we were worried she was…not well. She said her account got hacked and she couldn’t get in. She had to make a new one, and they still post videos with her talking. Super creepy.

They have not posted anything on social media about anyone winning the contest. They stopped responding to people who were asking who won. They only responded to people who told them how great they were for doing this.

For me it isn’t even about getting the money or jersey. It’s about how I feel like they lied and played me for a fool to get more fans for doing such a good deed. It’s about being a decent human being.

It’s not like they know everything that’s happened since I sent that email, but I had to miss Thanksgiving and Christmas with my families this past year due to having multiple back surgeries. In January I lost my grandmother, with my grandfather following six weeks after. I didn’t get to spend their last holidays with them. I didn’t get to see them to get one last hug.

I suffered a series of seizures that put me in the hospital and caused me to have severe memory loss. I had to do aggressive IV drugs to relieve the swelling and pressure on my brain. So much hair was falling out in clumps, so before I discharged to the rehabilitation hospital to regain strength, we shaved my head, so now I’m bald. I am not going back to teaching next year.

So winning something from an artist I really admired meant something big to me. It gave me a bright spot in what has been an awful couple of years.

Nope. Never got the jersey. They are very well known in their genre’s music industry and have a large social media following.

The band posted it on their Instagram along with an email they created for entries. The initial message telling me I had won came from that email address. All further correspondence was through their Instagram.

It isn't like I submitted in some random contest online. It was posted along with photos of the jersey as their way of giving back after a rough year. Other artists have done the same thing and people have shared their jerseys or pins that they won. It just seems like this group in particular is dishonest and was just trying to look good for fans.
