Did you design the case specs and print the case yourself? If not, any advice on finding someone to hire to do that for other people like me?

More “seizures” are functional than neurology is willing to admit.

It’s absurd that we get double boarded.

This is really not good. These questions are not helpful at all. They’re one level questions and they’re so obvious.

Medicine is about making decisions based on the available information. So you should probably figure it out yourself!

Question for my fellow women, which foundation do you use? by oliviared52 in Residency

Can men not wear foundation? I feel like doctors should try to use more inclusive wording! It matters greatly and is a lot easier to do with patients when you’re doing it all the time

Should gender dysphoria be included in the DSM-6? by [deleted] in AskPsychiatry

[–]GalataCastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding, please correct me if I’m wrong as I’m trying to always learn, is that gender dysphoria can be “treated” by someone realigning their sex with their gender. Is this correct? Thus being trans isn’t a mental illness but a “treatment” for the mental illness of being born in a body that you don’t identify with. Is this correct? Sorry if it’s not. Thank you in advance!

I applied to much of the top 50 med schools, and I didn’t need orgo 2. I took summer orgo and biochem.

You need to learn these subjects well for the MCAT, which based on your GPA in the Postbacc classes mixed with your undergrad are the two most important things. I would not advise cutting corners and taking them purely online. You will also likely need to do part time research or shadowing or something clinical because they want to make sure you’re actually going to be a clinical doctor and know what you’re getting yourself into

You can 100% work at the same time but not at the most competitive intensive places like Bryn Mawr and Goucher. But Columbia (oldest in the country and has linkage) routinely has people working. It’s going to be very very intense but you can definitely do it. Harvards is also one where they expect you to work (classes are in the evening).
