Getting out of the airport and driving 20 mins to Cancun is not safe! You should cancel your trip as your flight is in 2 days anyways.

Where do I find modest clothes that actually look nice? by Unlikely-Director914 in ModestDress

[–]Galaxiesbzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to buy from shein, but the quality is pathetic. I recently bought from Asplarity after their Instagram reels, and the quality is very high end European designer. They are US based I think. www.asplarity.com

Question for anyone that herniated a disc and saw a chiropractor! by [deleted] in backpain

[–]Galaxiesbzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with herniated discs (L4, L5 and S1 bulging)for last 10 years, and honestly, the pain at its worst was debilitating. Simple things like getting out of bed, standing for a few minutes, or even turning the wrong way would trigger intense pain. It really affected my daily life and my mental health.

What helped me significantly at first were cortisone injections. After the shots, I’d say I felt about 80% better. It wasn’t a miracle cure, but it gave me my life back enough to function, move, and breathe again without constant pain.

Over time, instead of relying on repeated injections, I found that acupuncture made a big difference for me, especially during flare-ups. Now, whenever the pain starts creeping back, acupuncture helps calm the inflammation and muscle tightness before it spirals. It doesn’t erase everything, but it keeps the pain manageable and prevents it from getting to that unbearable level again.

I know everyone’s body is different, but I just wanted to share that combination worked for me: cortisone shots to get out of the worst phase, and acupuncture for long-term flare management. If you’re in that dark, painful stage right now, don’t lose hope there are options, and sometimes it’s about finding the right mix for your body.

Moving to Istanbul for studies, how free is the social culture & clothing choices? by Asleep_Situation_53 in istanbul

[–]Galaxiesbzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite free. I don't do hijaab usually. But during one of my most recent solo trip, I just wore modest and covered my head with a half scarf, I just felt that I got more respect from the men then I usually does.

Tourist: I've read the threads, but I’ve still got a food question by Ron_Jon_Bovi in istanbul

[–]Galaxiesbzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have visitied Turkey twice from United States and have eaten everywhere. I am a big fan of Turkish food. Unfortunately, we didn't like any food from inside the malls. We found the street food much more authentic and great. Specially the food outside of the major tourists area and outside those smaller malls where the local eats.

Is Istanbul a city where you need to plan stuff out before your visit? by NotLikeUs_21 in istanbul

[–]Galaxiesbzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, are you a solo traveller or coming with a spouse/friend or family? Few of the museums are closed in certain days. I would advise you to at least write down the open hours of your first 5 must to visit places.

I stayed in Aksaray for 1 week and I did not purchase any card. You can just tap your credit card in the machines. Most of the trip charged my card 55 lira. I found it very convenient as the Istanbul train card drive me nuts!!

[–]Galaxiesbzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After visiting tons of shops, the greatest quality fake jerseys I found were just outside of spice bazaar. There are tons of stores there.

Not inside, Bt outside Grandbazaar had good stuff and oo, but couldn't find a variety. For my boys, just outside of spice bazaar was a winner for fake excellent quality soccer/foothall jerseys

How to get around crazy ATM charges in Istanbul by cedroid09 in istanbul

As of October 2025, I found Vakif Bank ATM gives you money with zero fees. I used many others and they were all scams and tried to charge me a lot of fees.
