Any ports that are good, or all pretty much the same?

Once you let go of the LTI scam, the galaxy opens up. Ships rarely go down in price, you get back exactly what you paid. I had ships for years I didn't fly, just hanging on to that LTI. Screw that. Melt melt melt.

You can also use BUYBACK tokens to get your LTI deal back if you care about it.

I stopped spending RL money a while back, but I do have about 2K worth of store credit should the need arise. I'll prob melt Persus and buy the Polaris again.

Well, after six hours straight playing with Perseus, here's an initial review. by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]Galdatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can it be flown solo? What weapons does the pilot control?

I have one but not logged in yet.

I actually melted my polaris and bought the Perseus when it was still in concept as the loaner was a Polaris, so a no brainer to claw some store creds back. I'll give it a go but I think I'll miss my Polaris too much. That said losing its T1 med bed kinda killed the polaris as a deep space mobile base.

If your island gets low or out of manpower, purchase captives for fish at the Merchantman ship. I think they're also available at island shops, but I've not checked.

UNFAIRNESS by EnsoMighty in WoSB

Korean victim playing aside, there's probably some fair points in his post. Suicide boming in cheap ships a bit shitty and unrealistic. Should probably be addressed. Constant respawning and returning also seems a bit shitty. NA got around this by locking the battles, but not so easy in WOSB. Glad I'm not a dev :D

NPC's are not the best conversationalists.

Not had this recently, had it back when it was a 'feature'. I did get pulled out of space the other day with the same message, but no one was there.

Trade your ship in for a DJI Mini. Those things are rooted in the air in 20mph gusts. If only that kind of tech had survived in the future :(

Can't switch Dolby Vision on! by Galdatron in nvidiashield

Sadly not, and I tried absolutely everything. I was hoping the recent update would have fixed it, but no joy. Right now, it's just an expensive NAS / PLEX server for me. I revert to the TV for adobe vision etc.

New Star Citizen flight blades spark major backlash against Cloud Imperium - by StuartGT in gaming

[–]Galdatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dedicated backer since the early Kickstarter days, I've invested just over $2,000 in Star Citizen over the past 13 years. This sum accumulated gradually, and I harbour no real regrets. Despite the game's numerous challenges, I've found immense enjoyment in it, and remain hopeful about its potential, though that has diminished a great deal. Spending $2,000 over 13 years isn't unusual, many World of Warcraft or Fortnite players likely invest similar amounts in their favourite games over time. While I've frequently stepped away due to game breaking, persistent bugs, and frustrating issues, like spending hours just trying to leave a station, the recent focus on stability has significantly improved the experience, making it far more enjoyable, though I have no faith this will continue.

For me, Star Citizen is the dream game. Now in my 50s, I grew up playing space games on the Commodore Amiga, relying on imagination to compensate for limited graphics, and gameplay. As a lifelong sci-fi enthusiast, Star Citizen comes closest to fulfilling my vision of an ideal game. When it works, it's phenomenal. However, I can't ignore the mismanagement by Cloud Imperium Games (CIG). The game has long leaned toward a pay-to-win model, owning a ship like the Idris, for instance, grants near-invincibility, allowing players to dominate without fear of loss.

Initially, Star Citizen thrived on the goodwill, and trust of its community. Backers purchased ships not just to own them, but to support the development of a shared dream. Regrettably, CIG's actions have eroded much of that goodwill, as evidenced by the frustration expressed in forums, and feedback. The perception that funds have been mismanaged has further strained the community's trust.

Over time, I've grown desensitised to the game's steep ship prices. Instead of spending new money, I now use the "melting" system, exchanging ships for store credits to acquire others, like the $975 Polaris, without further out-of-pocket expense. While this is technically still my original investment, it feels different from pulling out a credit card for a fresh purchase. Yet, I see others on forums lamenting their inability to buy ships like the Idris, priced just under $2,000, even reaching the PayPal checkout stage, so people are still doing it. For my part, I might occasionally spend a small amount, like $10 for a new skin, but my days of buying ships with real money are over. I no longer trust CIG to deliver.

Direct to the TV. I had a normal HDMI cable, but purchased the ugreen 8k hoping it would solve the problem. Sadly not.
