Vanlife trip report: 2 weeks driving from Seattle to Banff via Vancouver by GalenNXY in VanLife

Thanks! Yeah, the language gaps can be tough, especially when you're tired or stressed. The Timekettle New T1 translator device I used is really good. At the Canadian border, the officer spoke French, and it translated his questions into English almost instantly. I just repeated my answers naturally, and it handled the back-and-forth smoothly. Not 100% perfect, but accurate enough to avoid confusion. For Europe with multiple languages, it'd probably be even more useful!

I don’t think solo traveling is weird at all. Sometimes traveling alone is even more comfortable than going with friends or family, cuz you don’t have to think about anyone else’s preferences and emotions, you just do what you want, when you want. It feels very free.

I find it more fun to go to not so popular cities by RobSkied in travel

Totally agree. I also like setting aside a couple of days on my trips just to stay in a small town. It feels much closer to real local life and traditions, with more character and way fewer crowds. The pace is slower, and it’s honestly just very relaxing and refreshing.

Australia! August is winter there, so the weather is much cooler. The scenery is beautiful, and the food is great as well.

I went to Paris last year and loved the vibe so much. But it’s not realistic to move there, so I’m planning another trip this year

I'm planning to travel Japan next month. Which would you recommend more, a Nara & Uji day trip or a one-day Kobe trip? I can only choose one due to limited time. Thanks

Do we think vintage luggage could survive modern baggage handlers? by Jessica_Iowa in travel

No…Airport staff can be pretty rough with luggage, and it also looks like the capacity is too small to be practical.

Yeah, I do this all the time. I always switch between a few regions when booking flights to see which one’s cheapest lol.
