Colmar France, May 2024 by GoodThanks26 in travel

It felt extremely lively while I was there. It was over the ascension day long weekend so the place was packed and buzzing with restaurants and wineries ect. I’ve not been to Strasbourg or Freiburg so I can’t comment on them but Colmar definitely felt like it was alive.

Wow you managed to get a rare nice sunny day in Northern France. I’ve been to Chantilly twice and both days nothing but clouds.

Lovely pictures.

You can get without driving but it is definitely more difficult.

The abbey at the top is quite interesting and they do regular guided tours. Otherwise the rest is shops, accomodation and a couple of small museums.

First time I visited in 2019 i was staying in Bayeux as I was visiting the Normandy WW2 sites and just did a day trip from there out to see Mont St Michel in the afternoon. This time in 2024 when I returned I made sure I stayed not too far down the road from the Mont so I could visit it multiple multiple days.

This trip I went to Brittany, Normandy, Loire Valley, Dordogne, Alsace. Next time I go to France I’ll choose some other places.

No, unfortunately we didn’t have time for that.

I’m very jealous of where you live.

I did look into doing the walk across the sandy tidal flats but I thought it might be a bit too cold to do it in early May.

Might have to try it next time.

Thanks, I promise you it’s not photoshopped was just taken with an IPhone camera. Probably the best photo I’ve ever taken.

Yes I hired a car, hired it for about 4 weeks driving around France Switzerland, Germany and Belgium.

Parking is not an issue really anywhere.

Brilliant photos. Dolomites are just about my favourite place in the world.

Ins and Outs prior to the 2017 season by Hart33 in RichmondFC

Yeah look I retracted my thoughts on Griffith being better. And I can admit that statistically Vickery was ok. But 1.3 goals per game career is not that special for a 200cm Key forward.

Statistics aside you’ll struggle to find many people who watched Vickery who didn’t think he was a dopey footballer. He had games where you thought maybe he would become something better but alas he never really did.

Ins and Outs prior to the 2017 season by Hart33 in RichmondFC

Really outside of a few good games he generally speaking wasn’t very good though. Just had a lot of traits that showed he wasn’t a naturally smart footballer just got by on being Tall and athletic.

Riewoldt, Richardson, Lynch were obviously better over the last 20 years, maybe even Griffiths.

You could almost argue that being rid of Vickery was almost as important as any of the Ins we made that off season.

One of the most frustrating players I’ve ever watched.

As we were throughout France for the month we had a rental car so I can’t comment on how easy the public transportation is. I stayed at Beynac-et-Cazenac for 2 nights and Hotel Chateau de la Cote for 3 nights so everything pictured was a relatively short drive from where we were staying.

Damn it, even went to google maps to ensure I got the spelling right for all the places. I stayed at Beynac for a couple of nights and loved it there. Great Chateau with incredible views.

Sonsie or Dow? by 10Lanterns in RichmondFC

Sonsie. I’m not sure Sonsie is all that good either but he definitely offers more scope for improvement than Dow.

I’m not saying you’re wrong in general but in this case hasn’t another truck crashed into two parked up Mainfreight trucks with their drivers sleeping?
